Re: [darktable-dev] Version Color Problem

2018-08-07 Thread David Vincent-Jones

Thank you Tobias; problem solved.

I did not directly change anything .. but .. I re-calibrated my monitor
and that added a new profile to the list, in turn I suspect that it
moved my settings. I need to watch out for that in the future.

darktable 2.5.0~git423.c2b643790-469.5

Colors gone crazy ... looks like red and blue somehow switched.

All images located in earlier folders show the same problem.

Raw files opened in digicam look correct, pictures opened in Geeqie or
Gimp also OK.

Monitor is fine

Something very strange with this version

You set the display profile to BRG, didn't you?

These are images from september 2012,
so it is likely they were viewed in Ps CS5 for Windows (changed files
were saved as PSD at that time).

I added the existing XMP files to the dropbox folder, in hope that you
may track down the problem.

Thanks, that was helpful. It should be fixed in the next release.

[darktable-dev] Fuji EXR Sensor, Dynamic Range 400, 6 MegaPixel

2018-08-07 Thread michel.sch...@t-online.de
The 12 MP FUJI EXR Sensors are like a chessboard turned by 45 degree. The
raw file consists of two half pictures one for the black fields and one for
the white ones, each 6MP.
In high resolution mode both are done by the same ISO and result in 12 MP
picture.
In dynamic range mode the white fields are exposed for 4 times the ISO and
the result is a 6MP picture with more dynamic range.

Magic lantern for Canon has a Dual-Iso mode which exposes each second line
different and then calculates a 'full' resolution picture.

So my idea is: If the sensor has a range of 9, DR mode will have 11. The
dark half picture will cover 1-9 and the bright one 3-11. So the half
pictures overlap in the range 3-9. With some interpolations and compression
it should be possible to turn a DR-mode raw into a HR-mode one. Better
resolution in the midtones than the DR-Mode, but less (artefacts?) in the
bright and dark areas than the HR mode where only one half of the
half-pictures has information.
Before i spend too much time into it, do you think it is a valid idea?
