 I mean, if we try to create new stretch chroot with merged-usr,
 it becomes to be NOT equal to stretch environment since its /lib*,
 /bin and /sbin are merged to /usr. We should not apply it for pre-buster,
 IMHO.

commit rights on salsa for d-i-manual

Hi,

I am the actual maintainer of the Dutch translation of the Debian
Installation Guide. I prepared translation updates for the chapters
boot-installer.po and using-d-i.po.
I have commit rights on salsa for d-i as frans-guest in order to keep
the Dutch translation of the installer up to date.
Can I have commit rights on salsa for d-i-manual to?

Keymaps do have e.g.

./keymaps/i386/qwerty/et.kmap:compose '^' 'S' to Scaron

I don't remember whether console-setup generates compose sequences, but
it should be feasible. There are 6 available dead keys (`, ', ^, ~, ",
,), console-setup could allocate them dynamically for the Xkb-provided
deadkey definitions, and use unicode normalization decompositions with
combining characters to generate all compose sequences that can be
typed.

Sorry, these ones appear to be standard no-break spaces in French translation. 
So this is probably irrelevant regarding the current bug in console-setup-linux.

The original keyboard layouts of kbd are in the package console-data.  
Can you install this package and see if some of the Czech layouts works 
properly with UTF-8 encoding.  I have some doubts that the dead keys are 
usable with non-Latin1 symbols on the console.

You can try the various Czech layouts with one of the following six 
commands:

loadkeys cz-lat2.kmap.gz
loadkeys cz-us-qwerty.kmap.gz
loadkeys cz-lat2-prog.kmap.gz
loadkeys cz-us-qwertz.kmap.gz
loadkeys sunt5-cz-us.kmap.gz
loadkeys sunt5-us-cz.kmap.gz

Unfortunately, this bug is still present and unsolved with console-setup 1.184. 
Using UTF-8 French locales here. This new "narrow no-break space" is also 
replaced with the same "tofu" character on the console. For example, in 
aptitude, reading the checksecurity package description.

Debian 9 base product DVD installation using PXE boot in headless way.

Hi All,

Pls forgive me if it is not the right forum to ask debian based product ISO
installation in headless way over PXE/Network related questions on this
list.

I've a PXE server running along with DNSMASQ and TFTP configured and set
Virtual Box based VM (for test puposes) as network boot in BIOS and start
the VM, it boots using the PXE server and I can see PXE boot message in the
console and take the IP from DHCP server in the network and also start
product's ISO as soon as it goes ahead it gives the error "No common CD ROM
detected" and installation does not proceed as expected.

I also tried to boot using netboot.tar.gz from debian repository as an
starting point it works as expected and install the basic system in
interactive way.

 I want to install my product's custom DVD on several machines in my
network in headless way using PXE server.

I've tried to google it but no solid example could be found.

Does somebody know if it is possible to achieve this or with some
workrounds?
