Bug#408571: FC4 not detected correctly
Hello, thanks for your message. Both the commands gave blank outputs. I guess it is because the /boot content is in a separated ext3 partition, and the remaining files of each OS are on separated lvm volumes. You can examine the attached fstab. Also you can read the attached grub.conf (FC4 created and linked it to menu.lst during installation ; D-I created its own menu.lst). In rescue mode, mounting the Debian LogVol01 or FC4 LogVol00 as / partition, they show no files at /boot (as the ext3 was not mounted). In rescue mode screen it is not even offered the ext3 partition. It shows the 2 /dev/scsi lunX and then the lvm partitions. Regards. Also, what is the output of the following commands if you run them from VT2 in the installer (you can boot the installer in rescue mode for this, no need to actually reinstall): - 'os-prober' - 'linux-boot-prober /dev/XXX' (the partition you have FC4 on) Cheers, FJP grub.conf Description: Binary data menu.lst Description: Binary data fstab Description: Binary data
how select cdrom install at the debian installer?
Hello, In july 31 I downloaded the 2 first images from: http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/weekly-builds/i386/jigdo-cd I read http://d-i.alioth.debian.org/manual/en.i386/apa.html http://d-i.alioth.debian.org/manual/ and browsed http://wiki.debian.org/DebianInstaller but still unable to find how do I choose cdrom install. It seems that full cd images are actually netinst images and ignores most of the 2 cd contents (did not ask for the 2nd cd). I tried with install, expert, expertgui and installgui on a vmware clean disk. What did I forget? Regards. Andre Felipe -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#260109: debian installer 2004 jul 16 report (pppoe, cdrw/dvd, xfree86)
Hello, This bug report could be closed, as it contains various bugs and some of them were solved. The pppoe problem persists. Another specific bug report is open (tracked to modutils 263224 and 262942). I installed newer versions (at other machines) and the XFree86 problems persisted until 3 weeks ago. The cdrw drive installed, but a symlink to dvd was not created. A friend installed preRC2 yesterday and it went fine on XFRee86 phase. Unfortunately, the pppoe still did not work at his machine. Well, you may close this report. Regards. Andre Felipe -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
