Package: d4x Version: 2.5.0rel-3 Severity: minor Tags: patch D4X has an obsolete desktop entry file in obsolete location (for GNOME 1). Bug#304989: Obsolete .desktop file
Package: lynx Version: 2.8.5-2 Severity: minor Tags: patch Lynx installs a desktop entry file in obsolete format and in obsolete location. Package: gthumb Version: 3:2.6.3-1.1 Severity: minor Tags: patch gThumb watchfile points to the directory for gthumb 2.4.x, not 2.6.x. The Debian menu has a "gthumb" label, that doesnt make much sense. I suggest renaming it to "gThumb Image Viewer", like in GNOME menu. I also prepared a nicer XPM icon, converted from PNG using GIMP. (attached) I also think the description will be nicer if it will something like this: Description: advanced image viewer and browser gThumb is an advanced image viewer and browser. It has many useful features, such as filesystem browsing, slide show, image catalogs, web album creation, camera import, image CD burning, batch file operations and quick image editing features like transformation and color manipulation. . It's designed for GNOME 2 desktop environment and uses its platform. For camera import feature, the gPhoto2 library is used. . Homepage: http://gthumb.sourceforge.net/ Also, the GConf scheme is installed in /etc/gconf/schemas, while the correct directory is /usr/share/gconf/schemas. See dh_gconf debhelper tool, that can handle it automatically, see manpage. Also, the /usr/share/application-registry/gthumb.applications is useless now, it was only needed by older GNOME. New GNOME in Sarge and Sid uses the freedesktop's Desktop Entry specification instead. The /usr/share/applications/gthumb.desktop file defines supported mimetypes, but to get them working, the update-desktop-database command should be executed on postinst. The dh_desktop debhelper tool can handle it automatically, see manpage. You might also want to switch debian/* to CDBS and patches to simple-patchsys CDBS module. The gnome.mk of CDBS will automatically handle dh_desktop, dh_gconf and dh_scrollkeeper. debhelper.mk will handle all other dh_* things.
