Bug#390091: xxdiff-scripts: xx-sql-schemas and xx-cvs-revcmp missing modules
Just in case anybody has a patch for the problems below, please post, it'll make the next release of a respective debian package quicker. *t Quoting Chung-chieh Shan [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Package: xxdiff-scripts Version: 1:3.2-0 Severity: normal $ xx-sql-schemas --help Traceback (most recent call last): File /usr/bin/xx-sql-schemas, line 8, in ? from xxdiff.scripts.sqlschemas import main File /usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/xxdiff/scripts/sqlschemas.py, line 28, in ? from xxdiff.db import postgresql ImportError: No module named db $ xx-cvs-revcmp --help Traceback (most recent call last): File /usr/bin/xx-cvs-revcmp, line 8, in ? from xxdiff.scripts.cvsrevcomp import main ImportError: No module named cvsrevcomp -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16 Locale: LANG=zh_TW.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=zh_TW.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages xxdiff-scripts depends on: ii python2.4.3-11 An interactive high-level object-o ii xxdiff1:3.2-0a graphical file and directories c xxdiff-scripts recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- Edit this signature at http://www.digitas.harvard.edu/cgi-bin/ken/sig unless one sins against logic, one generally gets nowhere, what does that mean This message was sent using IMP, the Internet Messaging Program. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#387044: wrong rendering of newlines in description
Quoting gregor herrmann [EMAIL PROTECTED]: On Mon, 11 Sep 2006 22:49:05 +0200, Tomas Pospisek wrote: In aptitude in a non-standard-width terminal the description looks like this: -- ConfigFile parses simple configuration files and store its values in an anonymous hash reference. The syntax of the configuration file is quite simple: # This is a comment VALUE_ONE = foo VALUE_TWO = $VALUE_ONE/bar VALUE_THREE = The value contains a \# (hash). # This is a comment. COMPOSED_VALUE[one] = The first component of a clustered value COMPOSED_VALUE[two] = The second component of a clustered value -- I can confirm this behaviour (independent of the terminal width). The interesting point is that (besides debian/control looking as expected) debc and dkpkg --info present the long description in a sane way. Guessing: Could this be an aptitude problem? Maybe caused by the hash (#)? /me guessing too: probably it's not aptitude, but the description is really wrong, since I've seen the same problem many times in various packages and he maintainer probably just needs to read up the spec on how sane descriptions are allowed to be formated. Bug#372256: [Pkg-cups-devel] Bug#372256: unclear wording in NEWS file
Zitat von Martin-Éric Racine [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Please note that 1.1.23-15 never made it to Testing. Instead, we have 1.2.1-2 there. Could you please compare and check if it still applies? Oh, actually that's from the text I got when in installed 1.2.1-2. I don't know why the bug report indicates version 1.1.23-15 - probably I was too quick. Anyway - I have checked the bug reports against cupsys and there was not mention of any problem/fix of the NEWS file - so I very much assume that it still applies. *t pe, 2006-06-09 kello 08:26 +0200, Tomas Pospisek kirjoitti: Package: cupsys Version: 1.1.23-15 Severity: minor Tags: patch The NEWS file contains unclear wording. I suggest instead of: - * Port/Listen and Browsing parameters are splitted from newer /etc/cups/cupsd.conf. You can modify /etc/cups/cups.d/ports.conf and /etc/cups/cups.d/browsing.conf by 'dpkg-reconfigure cupsys' or by hand. If you'd like to use this feature, replace Port/Listen line of /etc/cups/cupsd.conf with 'Include /etc/cups/cups.d/ports.conf' and replace Browsing line with 'Include /etc/cups/cups.d/browse.conf'. (Parameters are already taken from old /etc/cups/cupsd.conf automatically.) - to write: - * Port/Listen and Browsing parameters have been split off of /etc/cups/cupsd.conf into separate files.
