Bug#312949: hdparm: Needs proper udev support

2005-08-06 Thread Christopher Martin
Hello,

Currently, on account of hdparm's incomplete support for udev, hdparm
doesn't work with my optical drives, since their device nodes are created
too late.

It seems that Ubuntu has worked on this issue, and has added a udev script
to their hdparm package which appears to solve the problem, though
admittedly I haven't tested it. It is linked to from the Package Tracking
System, or can be found at http://people.ubuntu.com/~scott/patches/hdparm.

Perhaps it will help you to solve this issue.

Cheers,
Christopher Martin

I have seen them, and while they miss some things I think are important,
I hav used them as the basis for a beginning in that direction. Look
for packages with udev support soon.

Thanks,
