Bug#772633: Only noise is played after pausing for a while

I suspect buggy ALSA drivers in combination with how we use the API, and putting pulse inbetween interacts differently with the driver. It's generally better to use pulse anyway since it has power aware buffering and mixing. Bug#772633: Only noise is played after pausing for a while
Package: xmms2-core Version: 0.8+dfsg-12 Severity: important When I toggle xmms2 playback on after pausing it for a while I only get noise. This mostly happen after long pauses (20 minutes). However, I saw this same behaviour happening after pausing for short periods (~10 seconds), but it is rare. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages xmms2-core depends on: ii libc6 2.19-13 ii libglib2.0-0 2.42.0-2 ii libsqlite3-0 3.8.7.1-1 xmms2-core recommends no packages. xmms2-core suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
