Bug#775712: dvb: support for new tuner device request -- hauppauge wintv hvr 2255

2015-06-30 Thread Brian Paterni
For anyone following this bug, Steven Toth worked on adding support for
the hvr 2255 a few months ago in the upstream 'media' tree. The support
also did land in the main kernel tree during the merge window for 4.2.
Happy to see this hardware supported at this time and will wait
patiently for it to show up in debian with the release of linux 4.2!

:)

Bug#775712: dvb: support for new tuner device request -- hauppauge wintv hvr 2255

2015-01-18 Thread Brian Paterni
Package: src:linux
Version: 3.16.7-ckt4-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I recently purchased a PCIe DVB tuner advertised as a

Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250

However, what was in the box was actually a more recent revision of the
hardware known as a:

Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2255

Looking at my kernel log though, it appears this new device is
unsupported at the time of this writing. I would much appreciate it if
support could be added for this newer hardware. Please let me know if
there's anything I can do to help with the process
