This has broken the rep-gtk package on kfreebsd-amd64; see the various "eval: 1: libtool_args+=: not found" messages in https://buildd.debian.org/fetch.cgi?pkg=rep-gtk;ver=1%3A0.90.0-2;arch=kfreebsd-amd64;stamp=1258691519 Some background of the problem can be found at http://www.mail-archive.com/bug-libt...@gnu.org/msg01265.html and the fix is apparently to explicitly set CONFIG_SHELL=bash like the libtool package does. [BCCing bug #577321 on gpib, which can probably do without the follow-up on this for the moment.] This is actually a new problem. In cdbs commit e5a26f5a7ac5344790d69a3099e08994600f1442, first shipped in cdbs 0.4.76, there was this change in 1/rules/buildvars.mk.in: - DEB_DESTDIR = $(CURDIR)/debian/$(strip $(DEB_ALL_PACKAGES))/ + DEB_DESTDIR ?= $(CURDIR)/debian/$(strip $(DEB_ALL_PACKAGES))/ else - DEB_DESTDIR = $(CURDIR)/debian/tmp/ + DEB_DESTDIR ?= $(CURDIR)/debian/tmp/ So DEB_DESTDIR is now getting clobbered by module-assistant. Revenge at last! ;) I'll try to think up a new workaround for gpib... not sure whether this affects other m-a packages. Bug#546528: [PATCH] make dash's preinst a C binary

Having it not be a shell script seems a reasonable why of achieving that. :-) > if /bin/bash > is missing, aren't we in deep trouble anyway? Yes. dash's preinst (in 0.5.5.1-7) currently has a /bin/sh shebang, however. Regards, Adam -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". The buildds have caused us a lot of trouble in the past and Matthias seems to be the only person willing and able to build manually on armel. If even he needs help, then I'm pessimistic about armel. Hi everybody, My two cents : I should receive in a few weeks (around 3/4) some Open-RD hardware [1]. One of the boxes will be running Debian. As soon as the Debian runs I propose my help for the Ada part on this platform. But as Ludovic is pointing, this is late in the release cycle, so may be my help can only be of some use for the next stable release. Hope it will help, xavier [1] http://www.open-rd.org/ well, first I'd like to understand the issue, what goes wrong ... the ada-acats.diff has some parts related to zcx, which are not built on armel, so this patch should be split into a generic and a zcx part. this explains the testsuite failures. hmm, I'm unable to reproduce the build failure, using gcc-4.4.5-1 as a bootstrap compiler. now uploaded, built with itself. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#599996: Unreproducible ?
I've built this code on sid on zelenka.debian.org and it builds (and runs testcases) fine. I can't trigger this failure. While debugging i've found two minor bugs and am uploading a fresh build to fix them (2.3.0-2); i'll see if the upload builds, and if so, consider it a runtime glitch. Bug#600182: ntp: NTP switching from kernel time sync status change 4001 to 0001 caused server to stop responding
Package: ntp Version: 1:4.2.4p4+dfsg-8lenny3 Severity: critical Justification: breaks the whole system Hi There, We've just had an issue were a server became unresponsive after NTP started switching status as per the daemon log below: Oct 13 19:15:44 mb ntpd[1966]: kernel time sync status change 4001 Oct 13 20:06:59 mb ntpd[1966]: kernel time sync status change 0001 Oct 13 20:41:09 mb ntpd[1966]: kernel time sync status change 4001 Oct 13 20:58:14 mb ntpd[1966]: kernel time sync status change 0001 Oct 13 21:43:43 mb afpd[5409]: afp_alarm: child timed out Oct 13 21:43:43 mb afpd[5409]: 44.10KB read, 650.20KB written Oct 13 21:43:43 mb afpd[5409]: Connection terminated Oct 13 21:43:43 mb afpd[2052]: server_child[1] 5409 exited 1 Oct 13 21:49:26 mb ntpd[1966]: kernel time sync status change 4001 Oct 13 22:06:30 mb ntpd[1966]: kernel time sync status change 0001 Oct 14 00:06:00 mb ntpd[1966]: kernel time sync status change 4001 Oct 14 00:23:06 mb ntpd[1966]: kernel time sync status change 0001 Oct 14 00:57:16 mb ntpd[1966]: kernel time sync status change 4001 Oct 14 01:48:31 mb ntpd[1966]: kernel time sync status change 0001 Oct 14 02:56:49 mb ntpd[1966]: kernel time sync status change 4001 Oct 14 03:48:02 mb ntpd[1966]: kernel time sync status change 0001 Oct 14 06:38:45 mb ntpd[1966]: kernel time sync status change 4001 Oct 14 08:21:13 mb ntpd[1966]: kernel time sync status change 0001 Oct 14 09:46:37 mb ntpd[1966]: kernel time sync status change 4001 Oct 14 10:03:40 mb ntpd[1966]: kernel time sync status change 0001 Once the server was rebooted, netatalk (afpd) clients could reconnect again. and SSH connections once again worked. Bug#600177: virtualbox-ose: out of disk while merging a snapshot destroys the disk image
Package: virtualbox-ose Version: 3.2.8-dfsg-2 Severity: grave Justification: causes serious data loss If you elect to merge the current state of a differentiating disk image into the base ("deleting a snapshot") and run out of disk space on the host filesystem while merging, the resulting image will be corrupted. I happened to look at the ~/.VirtualBox/VDI and ~/.VirtualBox/Machines/${machine}/Snapshot directories before trying to continue, they did have both the base image and the differential one, so at this point I guess it would be recoverable by simply restarting -- sectors that were already overwritten by the new values would be overwritten with the same data again. However, when retrying the merge, VirtualBox started merging a second disk (the virtual machine in question had two) and deleted the first differential image. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (200, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages virtualbox-ose depends on: ii adduser 3.112add and remove users and groups ii libc6 2.11.2-6 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcurl37.21.0-1 Multi-protocol file transfer libra ii libgcc1 1:4.4.5-2GCC support library ii libpng12-0 1.2.44-1 PNG library - runtime ii libpython2.62.6.6-3 Shared Python runtime library (ver ii libsdl1.2debian 1.2.14-6 Simple DirectMedia Layer ii libssl0.9.8 0.9.8o-2 SSL shared libraries ii libstdc++6 4.4.5-2 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libvncserver0 0.9.7-2+b1 API to write one's own vnc server ii libx11-62:1.3.3-3X11 client-side library ii libxcursor1 1:1.1.10-2 X cursor management library ii libxext62:1.1.2-1X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii libxml2 2.7.7.dfsg-4 GNOME XML library ii libxmu6 2:1.0.5-2X11 miscellaneous utility library ii libxt6 1:1.0.7-1X11 toolkit intrinsics library ii python 2.6.6-3 interactive high-level object-orie ii python-central 0.6.16+nmu1 register and build utility for Pyt ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.4.dfsg-3 compression library - runtime Versions of packages virtualbox-ose recommends: ii libgl1-mesa-glx [libgl1]7.7.1-4 A free implementation of the OpenG ii libqt4-opengl 4:4.6.3-1+b1 Qt 4 OpenGL module ii libqtcore4 4:4.6.3-1+b1 Qt 4 core module ii libqtgui4 4:4.6.3-1+b1 Qt 4 GUI module ii virtualbox-ose-dkms 3.2.8-dfsg-2 x86 virtualization solution - kern ii virtualbox-ose-qt 3.2.8-dfsg-2 x86 virtualization solution - Qt b ii virtualbox-ose-source 3.2.8-dfsg-2 x86 virtualization solution - kern Versions of packages virtualbox-ose suggests: ii libasound21.0.23-2 shared library for ALSA applicatio ii libpulse0 0.9.21-3 PulseAudio client libraries pn vde2 (no description available) ii virtualbox-guest-additions3.2.8-1guest additions iso image for Virt -- debconf information: virtualbox-ose/upstream_version_change: false -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#595838: not reproducible anymore in squeeze and sid
Hi Lukas [Note: I'm not the Maintainer of this mozzemberek] I just go trough the RC bugs and noticed that bugreport. Could you check if you too could reproduce the issue? I did a rebuild in squeeze, and it does now give some warnings on build, but builds trough. The relevant changes may be updated xulrunner now on 1.9.1.13-1 in squeeze, and during your build 1.9.1.11-2. But I have not further investigated. Bug#570719: rep-gtk and librep-dev bash/dash libtool breakage

Issues such as this: | eval: 1: libtool_args+=: not found | eval: 1: libtool_args+=: not found typically come from configure running the tests under a different shell than libtool. This is often because the configure.ac messes with $SHELL and/or $CONFIG_SHELL, or CONFIG_SHELL is set in the environment. The build log referenced looks like it ran under bash: | checking whether the shell understands some XSI constructs... yes | checking whether the shell understands "+="... yes yet make uses /usr/lib/rep/x86_64-pc-kfreebsd-gnu/libtool which doesn't seem to have been created by configure. I suspect that /usr/lib/rep/x86_64-pc-kfreebsd-gnu/libtool assumes /bin/sh is bash, because at the time and on the system it was created it was bash. In all likelihood, this is not a Libtool bug. Maybe, as this error comes from zipl, it would make sense to guard the zipl invocation by checking for the config file presence first? #!/bin/sh if [ -f /etc/zipl.conf ] then exec zipl &2 fi Kind regards, Philipp Kern signature.asc Description: Digital signature
