Bug#372765: holotz-castle, help needed
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 tags 372765 help moreinfo thanks The problem you are describing seems to be a arch specific issue and I couldn't reproduce it on my machine, thus we will need some help from somebody with a amd64 machine. About the build issue, did you tried to get the source again (apt-get source holotz-castle) and rebuild after setting and exporting the DEB_BUILD_OPTS=nostrip ? Did you tried to reproduce the bug with a non-debug version built by yourself? Also, please export LANG=C before giving examples. Related to the segfault, you could indeed provide a strace, if the regular version (compiled by yourself) also crashes. - -- Regards, EddyP = "Imagination is more important than knowledge" A.Einstein -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.3 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFEnk1KY8Chqv3NRNoRAlCVAKDBrDjvZo1UBmQYdRtMutpslbaN1ACgsHp7 mlG2dGP0GD/DZ+6AfKA39bc= =Ssx0 -END PGP SIGNATURE- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Version 1.3.8-1.1 Hello Eddy, On Sun, Jun 25, 2006 at 11:46:02AM +0300, Eddy Petrisor wrote: > The problem you are describing seems to be a arch specific issue and > I couldn't reproduce it on my machine, thus we will need some help > from somebody with a amd64 machine. Since I have an amd64, maybe I can help you to track it down? > About the build issue, did you tried to get the source again > (apt-get source holotz-castle) and rebuild after setting and > exporting the DEB_BUILD_OPTS=nostrip ? 1. I tried rebuilding 1.3.8-1.1 and it built now (again). 2. It runs just fine, even without .holotz-castle directory, so I guess the bug was a transient build problem (probably some library was too old on the buildd?) > Did you tried to reproduce the bug with a non-debug version built by yourself? Yes, I just did and it works now. It also works with the binaries as provided by Debian now. > Also, please export LANG=C before giving examples. I did set LANG=C before reporting, as you can see, I even went inside the pipe to get the proper language set for the example. I do try to provide english error messages, if possible. Sorry if that last line of the full build confused you, I assumed my explanation was obvious that this was the full build (from the test case shown previously). Greetings Helge P.S. When I submitted the bug, I got a mail with the following content: Your mail to 'Pkg-games-devel' with the subject Bug#372765: Non-Debug holotz-castle dies with Segfault (amd64) Is being held until the list moderator can review it for approval. The reason it is being held: Post by non-member to a members-only list Either the message will get posted to the list, or you will receive notification of the moderator's decision. If you would like to cancel this posting, please visit the following URL: Could you *please* white-list the BTS or suppress this message? Btw., I did not (and do not want to!) receive a notification of the moderator's decision. And I see no reason to cancel a submitted bug either. (I think there was an article about lists as debian maintainer a while ago in the DWN, discussing these issues). -- Dr. Helge Kreutzmann [EMAIL PROTECTED] Dipl.-Phys. http://www.helgefjell.de 64bit GNU powered gpg signed mail preferred Help keep free software "libre": http://www.ffii.de/ signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Yes, it was, but I saw some German text, so I wanted to make sure you don't forget that. I guess you are a good guy :-). > P.S. Miri, since you are the administrator for that list, could you remove the moderation or whitelist the BTS (although I fear users of it should be whitelisted). I think something like "@bugs.debian.org" can be specified. Please ask for help, if you think you need it. > Could you *please* white-list the BTS or suppress this message? I agree, this thing was discussed before, probably Miri was busy. - -- Regards, EddyP = "Imagination is more important than knowledge" A.Einstein -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.3 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFEoEaCY8Chqv3NRNoRAvTpAKDVs1A44Ib3F1IBvuT3I0BKGrB+AgCgitRz xit4+1HP+SDivXAWTTeeqes= =Ct9E -END PGP SIGNATURE- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Sorry, I hope I'll be able to be active again soon, as soon as my connection is working from home (right now I haven't been able to make it work under Linux yet). I don't remember having a conclusion on that, but as you say, I've been quite busy. Please tell me what to do (or should I remove the moderation?) to remove those stupid messages. Thanks!
