Hint: You should choose ldap because many of these services do have an interface for ldap (proftpd, bind9, apache, sendmail etc.). I don't have a solution for your particular problem but i am using the milter interface via MIMEdefang which provides a nice way to use it via perl. With kind regards -Kai Bojens
