it already has been built with 1.1. We are done with the binNMUs for
openssl.

Bug#856004: khtml: please build-depen on libssl1.0-dev for Stretch

Hi!

The problem is that if the package was to be rebuilt now, it would be
rebuilt with OpenSSL 1.1 and not OpenSSL 1.0 which is the original
motivation for this bug report by Sebastian!

Either way, it would be preferred to come to an agreement what to do
with this bug report now. It shouldn't remain open given the freeze.

Either close it or change the build depends to libssl1.0-dev to make
sure it's rebuilt with OpenSSL 1.0 in case a binNMU is triggered.

PS: Please keep everyone in CC. I didn't get your mail.

I experienced the same problem. Executing “dkms autoinstall” fixed the problem
for me (similar to your solution). So, this problem has nothing to do with
KDE/Qt in Debian, but only with the proprietary NVIDIA drivers.

[SOLVED] No SDDM on boot after upgrade, proprietary NVIDIA drivers

2017-02-28 Thread Thom Castermans
Dear all,

This is just for future reference and possibly to help others.

Today I did an upgrade in testing and got, on a later boot, no SDDM login
screen. I saw error messages scrolling by before I got TTY9. The last ones
repeatedly said that SDDM was started and then stopped immediately. In the
logs (`/var/log/kern.log`), I found that SDDM said that `Display server
failed to start. Exiting`.

I remembered and found in the APT logs that I had upgraded the kernel, but
saw that the NVIDIA kernel module was not recompiled, as it does normally.
Not sure why, maybe because it was a minor upgrade only? In any case,
reinstalling `nvidia-kernel-dkms` to trigger the recompile did the trick
for me: `aptitude reinstall nvidia-kernel-dkms`. The first time booting got
me a black screen for some reason, but the second boot (cold one this
time), I was greeted by SDDM again.

Cheers,
Thom

Bug#824059: Some new data

2017-02-28 Thread Salvo Tomaselli
Yesterday pulseaudio got installed again on my system.

I have noticed that basically, when I press the keys for volume+ and
volume- on my keyboard,
in that screen only the virtualbox and amarok sound levels change,
while the notification remains stuck at maximum (it was at maximum
when i opened the mixer).

If I lower it manually, it remains lowered, doesn't move with the
others when I change the volume.

I suppose this is the issue.

I'll now remove PA again, since I don't trust that volume bar to stay
where I put it, the moment that a notification will actually come.
