It is part and at some place in the web, these KMail debs are available, but
they are not stable and dangerous:

#kde cvs snapshot
deb http://oberlin.cems.umn.edu/kdecvs/debian ./

if the Xfree 4.3 is not in the archive yet:
#4.3 X-Server
deb ftp://ftp.skolelinux.no/debian-unofficial/x4.3/sid/i386/ ./

That's what I use and like :-)
(but it crashes some times though :-/ :-) - but it is fun to have contact
and other things :-)

Qt linguist and co: c102

2003-04-05 Thread Matthias Wieser
hI!

I am missing new compiled versions of qt linguist and some other qt related
programs that have to be recompiled for gcc 3.2.

Or do I have a wrong understanding?

Thanks, Matthias

I guess it will be any C++ library. If I understood right, these are not
compatible between the too GCC versions ...

This error says the following: The file you downloaded does not match the
signature of the original file that was mentioned in the file Release:

There are 2 possibilities:

a) Somebody tried to sneek in wrong sources
b) After the last source upload the Release file were not updated or got last
updated and you got an old copy.(mirror troubles)

It is your job to find out if this is a big security issue or a minor.

Well, I had the same problem and the cause:
All users were not aloud to read/write /dev/pts or something, that was the
error that caused the konsole AND xterm not to open at my installation

I think, the error is documented in some log file, I think .xsession-errors,
but I am not sure.

I guess there is also a conflict to the old Mail-file format, kmail crashes
if it is existant :| (Thus i moved the Mail-file and all went perfecty :) ...
only how can I get a hold of the old mail ... ? (I just moved it but still :)

(that was the work around I had to use to get kmail running)

kmail crashes just anytime on startup with version 2.2

2001-07-07 Thread Matthias Wieser
i am using Sid with the latest available packages.
Now everytime i try to start up kmail, it crashes during the startup.
Does anybody know a solution or what could be a possible reason?
Thanks, mattHias
PS.: I am thankful for any tip or help :)
Here is what the commandline has to say:
kmail
Xlib: extension "RENDER" missing on display ":0.0".
KCrash: crashing crashRecursionCounter = 2
KCrash: Application Name = kmail path = pid = 10837
ERROR: KUniqueApplication: DCOP communication error!
(thus I have no starting point where to begin)

Re: packages (stable, unstable, and somewhere in between)

2001-05-16 Thread Matthias Wieser

I think there is a way. But you have to go with an APT ( and dpkg ?) from
unstablee or testing.

After that it should be possible to use the pinning feature from APT and
you can install gimp/unstable. (I have not playerd with that as I have an
unstable system)

Ciao Matthias

You should get rid of KDE 1 applications - they are nt compatible to 2.1
apps and are not supported anymore
qt1apps should not be anymore in the sources.list

Libqt2 requirement does not get fullfilled: unstable

2001-02-27 Thread Matthias Wieser
I wanted to update to the final version of kde, but it got hold back
because most of the packages have one dependency, that is not
fullfilled.

libqt2 can not be resolved - package does not seem to be available.

I am using unstable and use the austrian mirror and the official server.

Thank you for looking into things :-)

Ciao Matthias

PS: Thank you for the best support in the world, Ian!!!
