arts freez my pc when playing a file

Hello

I'm using unstable feed of debian
And then i try to play file 'http://int.matrixtelecom.net/message.wav' my comp 
freez and i can do nothing but only hard reset
i can play this file with alsa without any problems
but then i say 'artsplay message.wav' - it's freez my system

I don't use arts and I don't think you should be using it either.

I used it because i need something to mix my various sound stream.
i.e. from mp3player and icq

May be a better solution exist?

Can't you just use alsa exclusively? I run Psi sounds through aplay, and 
multimedia through kaffeine. They mix perfectly.

My original comment is not entirely accurate though. I do run system sounds 
through arts, but the only system sound I have turned on is the splash screen 
tune and the logout tune. :-)
