Hi Alexandre!

I am not with pkg-go -- sorry! But I do have a quick review for you
that contains some things which you can work on while you wait.

Because there are so many variants of the MIT license, the Debian
copyright-format policy wants the license specified as the more specific
version - Expat is usually compatible with MIT, but it depends what
the upstream author wants.

The file _example/main.go doesn't comply with gofmt. A quick
run-through of gofmt and sending the patch upstream is an easy fix for
that.

Other than that, there's an extra newline in d/copyright.

The RFS bug for this package should /probably/ block on the RFS bug for
golang-go-isatty, since this package depends on that one. Not a big
deal, though.

Hope that helps, and thank you for your contributions to Debian!

packaging haskell application

2015-03-26 Thread Richard Ulrich
Hi,

I just tried to package a haskell application.
I must say I have no experience with haskell whatsoever.
All the guidance I found is for libraries:
https://wiki.debian.org/Haskell/CollabMaint/PackageTemplate
https://wiki.haskell.org/Creating_Debian_packages_from_Cabal_package
Trying to adapt it to an application, resulted in an almost empty
package:
https://mentors.debian.net/package/haskell-tttool
Can anybody point me in the right direction to have it filled?

Rgds
Richard

I think it would be best to discuss this on
debian-hask...@lists.debian.org, there is more knowledge on Haskell
packaging there :)

Excellent.

I hope we can avoid pushing upstream to release, right?

Either way is fine, but I generally subscribe to the release early,
release often principle. Releasing also benefits the rest of the Free
Software community, as Debian has promised to do. Of course it is
completely up to upstream as to when they do releases.

Done!

I opened a PR upstream and it was merged. I have repackaged, pushed to
github, and to mentors.debian.net

Other than that, there's an extra newline in d/copyright.

I had done this mistake in all 3 packages. Fixed.

The RFS bug for this package should /probably/ block on the RFS bug for

Agreed, getting upstream to fix them and start using these tools is
the best option.

Hi Paul, upstream fixed all the issues, so the next version will drop all our
patches.

I hope we can avoid pushing upstream to release, right?

let me know,

cheers,
