Michael Hudson-Doyle: Application Manager report
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA512 For nm.debian.org, at 2017-08-25: After looking at Michael Hudson-Doyle 's contributions and after exchanging some emails to get to know him a bit better, I agree with the advocates that Michael can and should indeed be a Debian Developer, uploading right now. Michael Hudson-Doyle's bio: I'm Michael Hudson-Doyle, born and raised in the UK but living in New Zealand for the last 9.5 years. I first installed GNU/Linux in (I think) 1998 -- it was Redhat Linux 5, and if I remember right, I just missed the pain of the transition from libc5 to glibc. Ancient history! I had a bit of a dabble with OS X on my personal machines for a while, but I've been linux only for a long while now. I've worked for Canonical for over 10 years now but I've only really been doing a lot of packaging/Ubuntu work for the last 3 or 4 years. Part of my reason for wanting to work more on Debian is work-related, as obviously Ubuntu is mostly Debian and making Debian better makes Ubuntu better. Making changes in Ubuntu only is both technically and morally (if that's the right word) painful. I always want to fix problems in the right place, whether that's upstream or Debian or wherever! On a more personal level, I'm committed to the idea of free software and Debian is obviously one of the beacons of the whole movement. In Debian, my main areas of interest are related to Go and Python; I already maintain the golang compiler packages in Debian and Ubuntu and want to help more with the ecosystem of packages in both languages (this is one of the reasons why DM status is a little frustrating: updating one package may require updating a few others and requesting sponsorship of each change or upload rights for each package adds friction to the whole process). I don't really have any specific goals beyond keeping these packages usefully current but who knows where my interests will take me :-) -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- iQIzBAEBCgAdFiEEZBjBLN3JFZ8LzvKD3m/9uMjWSL0FAlmgDfgACgkQ3m/9uMjW SL3CcQ/8D0AXhtJdHZpX2DsAaL2BwmytiCtd3aZYIjah0QgyRRvVbMOikfgEK+PT XFJ/p0edX9US49jKRYqXvpbHHMTlx0mqDn7I/wjpH6BsbYbK+H+ihnzGv5chx2wG +mMVp2MRVsXoWBDVV0w5yzXWIyG9EW0lmxR+/4CPHFGyLTE4Vg1YiVQHxcYghLeh tmG9VyQG6AoK1qXdNWzyDRW10dhinBLjOavlClM/tuSC8GjH4sBf5UbSEPkx8qya PDgr/+RGccZaZR+pdC5tjVeKHm8fbM/oFFFj/v4BSrgpUaHTcj72TnAYfYMGOgGv MZB7tPqin8ujz4VvClf4b/Oc7rEOwVhmBPAECskVwXihBkkaNzEegbi9n3jlnsVE OKDfKHh/apOy2zgodnMlGgxaON2bAYlLA0NmHqBqy5hMb5fm9X+5CYqu+18wtB92 Oo0BeNT9KZacOV2702X9nFA+PeXt0GohFTnn47fSP+punhva+A7Iih2NIm+deu+R FscxoS8Bzt7zBm04IwKa3+/Vvyym7dpVpeUn21OgYFduNKNy9IS5ze7MtpBnTRhb zCkx6KxM52t8ZUnmu99PvEPNgx66RxqjYqP2vH91+ecbDaYq1NEEsagtwCyiqwcT w+9mHqZHPU2KsMa0ndUlYIH0JzxA2OKHF88H3lj2lGv/4EELp9M= =bwt8 -END PGP SIGNATURE- Santiago Ruano Rincón (via nm.debian.org) For details and to comment, visit https://nm.debian.org/process/198 -- https://nm.debian.org/process/198
Michael Robin Crusoe: Declaration of intent
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA512 For nm.debian.org, at 2017-08-25 I would like to apply to change my status in Debian to Debian Developer, uploading. I have worked on many packages for the Debian Med team for a while and I would like to be able to upload new bioinformatics packages on my own. -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- iQIzBAEBCgAdFiEEck1gkzcRPHEFUNdHPCZ2P2xn5uIFAlmgQr8ACgkQPCZ2P2xn 5uJQqRAAtl8//hl7IS1Xet6F7AnGhrY4zkIsz6ADXJLIk4r5mUtBg0DUbovdTu8x tvWyC2ItTdKTdw0ZalQZhoQ+UPfn8sWAfV2fhaq7n1PTResoA/X06G5wXdHA5b3m hoHKTYgmTpDh1gnNQNNvh7wBaAxQ3M8nyK/zELgKtOiEkHZVo3TwXfTWIF/6gS2g BabC/b300RQ+mj8YP1jT5GAevK4+iG2i2p6j5BSaHXNk2LMSyE4jrnv200JcxbL6 ElkyvVDxBZhax71JXysJR2ASyviLGafIEHvQnbdHeDPA34Q39YX+B2WQj8wAQtRv SNvYDYCmvs/CZukxFua5HsGG0jvZYSpRoX/Y+aaXzqCcJZbnMbEdFUfvRdrYWXOo +N68qv9Ldf5ZLssxgfzRXJzEm2GvXdEsJt3QMHfJLB5tTk7OWlCtQLNe6YpmuhzC o/4f3vB2pm7MkUd0coHci9BqjdyTUmMnRFvSZ4r3pATR5KkLfzLNsWZ4w5XNO0cC zbgPBXrzaV69zXc+FUyNxeDxMhzyuwqU86QETQBAQNyLdZhZfVbY4gQiBjC9vvLZ Dg0t+M8cTe8k8xdgiZGrO3Onz/sPVfjonYa1Rv4MnURJP9UPOxQLLhIajb7bM0ZK /tfWXwCYfIvLCl48j2RcG30zIPu1TVdqvkNFLI6NzzYpfaWo+tM= =05qi -END PGP SIGNATURE- Michael Robin Crusoe (via nm.debian.org) For details and to comment, visit https://nm.debian.org/process/286 -- https://nm.debian.org/process/286
Christopher Knadle: Advocate
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA512 [Advocacy statement for nm.debian.org, 2017-08-25] I fully support Christopher Knadle 's request to become a full project member as an uploading Debian Developer. 2 years ago already I advocated Chris' DM application: https://lists.debian.org/debian-newmaint/2015/05/msg00010.html and what I wrote there still holds, i.e. he does excellent technical work in a cooperative way. Since then, I granted Chris upload rights for mumble, and as I was and am still subscribed to the package in tracker, I could follow him taking care of the package in all necessary aspects: new upstream releases, keeping the packaging side up to date, fixing bugs, interacting with bug reporters and upstream, investigating difficult corner cases, etc. I also noted that Chris had an eye at mumble's dependencies and helped out there when problems arose, and that he always tries to support other Debian contributors wherever he can. Additionally we've been in contact via email and met at several DebConfs, where our chats always should me that Chris shares Debian values and has the necessary technical and social skills to become an uploading DD. Therefor I support Christopher Knadle 's (key 885AEADC783E1F842E97B82F1E759A726A9FDD74) application and confirm that I believe he can be trusted to be a full member of Debian, and have unsupervised, unrestricted upload rights, right now.
