There are some where myspell-* is packages from the zip but those are exeptions, either because the ispell one is not packaged or for some other reason (packaged separately from the start). > package exists, although the dictionary files are available from the > openoffice.org site. Why isn't there a package that downloads all I do not see the sense in taking those when you can create them from the "source" (i.e. the ispell dictionaries). Most myspell-* packages in Debian are created from the respective ispell dictionaries. The exception proves the rule. There even is a wishlist bug for creating myspell-nl there. See http://bugs.debian.org/237974. It would be better to do it this way. And additionally: I don't trust anyone putting dictionaries there caring for licensing, as I've seen in some hyphenation stuff..- > dictionaries and creates packages for them? It would be more work than > a single myspell package for one language, but not much more for someone > with some packaging experience, I would think. It would be relatively easy to yes, but every package would have the same version number -> suboptimal. You need to update all myspell packages in one row when only one changes -> suboptimal. When the ispell dictionary is enhanced the myspell dictionary isn't. Etc... Grüße/Regards, René -- .''`. Bug#284487: Disabling KDE/Gnome Filechooser is a drawback

Bug#267963: .openoffice/x.y.z/share/basic/* is the problem(s)
Hi, I yesterday saw exactly the same problem on an OpenOffice.org mailinglist. The problem seems to be in the .openoffice/x.y.z/share/basic/* files - especially script.xlc. I bet with a grep on it you'll find openoffice.org1.1 there. I think we should check for this and fix those entries in the wrapper... Grüße/Regards, René -- .''`. Right. The Problem is that you need non-free stuff (the non-free JDKs out there) to build/use those so they are not done in the main Debian package because main has to be self-contained for building and running. There is a addon package for 1.1.3 (openoffice.org-java) at http://people.debian.org/~rene/openoffice.org/1.1.3/ which contains those jars. BTW: There already were "bugs" reported wrt that - #265134 et al. - please check whether a bug already is reported before filing a new one. > -- System Information: > Debian Release: 3.1 > APT prefers unstable > APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') uh? Interesting that dpkg-shlibdeps didn't add the dependency on the libstlport4.6c2 package... Grüße/Regards, Rene -- .''`. Bug#320749: no more dictionnary since the last update

Please correct it... I will. Filing bugs with inflated severities does *not* help. I am already working on a new package and this will be fixed there, too. And anyway, If I didn't already guess what the problem is (because I found another related problem) your report would have been completely useless because it doesn't tell what exactly went wrong. Anyway, will be fixed in 1.1.4-5. Regards, Rene -- .''`. Bug#320831: openoffice.org2: Spellcheck doesn't work, missing link to /etc/openoffice/dictionary.lst
Hi, Vedran Fura?? wrote: > /usr/lib/openoffice2/share/dict/ooo/dictionary.lst is missing. > I think that /usr/lib/openoffice2/share/dict/ooo/dictionary.lst should be > symlink pointing to /etc/openoffice/dictionary.lst. Hmm. The only way I see in fixing this is checking in OOo2s postinst whether the /usr/share/myspell/dicts/dictionary.lst symlink (share/dict/ooo/dictionary.lst is a symlink to there) and create it if not existant. (Unless I miss something obvious that late here of course...) Including the symlink in the package is not possible since it then would not be parallel installable with OOo1 anymore: $ dpkg -S /usr/share/myspell/dicts/dictionary.lst openoffice.org: /usr/share/myspell/dicts/dictionary.lst Hmm. Doesn't look that beautiful.. I'll think about it. Regards, Rene signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Good point. But now the question is how that sneaks in. But I probably can just rm it in debian/rules anyway.. Regards, Rene -- .''`.
