Package: kopete
Version: 4:3.3.2-1
Severity: normal

ICQ releases a new version of their client last week. A chat with partners
using this new version (under Windows) causes Kopete to crash. Sorry, no
backtrace
available...

It seems that ICQ uses a new version of their protocol that Kopete does
not understand yet. The messages are readable with ethereal, so no
encryption is used by the new client.

It would be glad to see Kopete supporting the new ICQ.

TIA!
Greetings, Michael.

Hello,

please fix the section of kopete:

There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the

kopete_3.3.2-1_i386.deb: package says section is net, override says kde.

how come i'm forced to install some gtk1.2 application just because i

Thanks!

Every time a ICQ5 (!) user sends a message, Kopete crashes.
Receiving messages form ICQ3, ICQ4 users and via other
protocols works fine!

There is already a bug listed at bugs.kde.org:

But the Kopete guys will not fix the bug
for the 3.3 branch - only for 3.4 :( !

Bug#302240: kaddressbook: strange handling of vcard-directory as address-ressource

2005-03-30 Thread Bastian Venthur
Package: kaddressbook
Version: 4:3.4.0-0pre1
Severity: important

Exactly the same bug applies to KAdressbook found in kde 3.3.

Ok, here's the situation:
I have a directory filled with some vcards. I want KAdressbook (KAB) to
handle this directory like a real adressbook, so i import it via: add
adressbook - directory - read-only unchecked! and format: vcard.

The import works well, all contacts are correctly shown.

Now I edit a contact but instead of changing the actual file of this
specific contact, KAB creates a new one (in this directory) so my
contact appears twice! I think, this is not the behaviour most users
expect.

Right now I'm using KDE 3.4 from alioth, but this bug also applies to
the kde-3.3 version of KAB which is currently in sid.

Sincerely

Bastian

Bug#300614: kmail: deletes emails when manually applying a filter for all messages in inbox manually

2005-03-30 Thread Christopher Martin
severity 300614 important
retitle 300614 kmail crashes when filter applied manually on multiple mails

Hello,

This bug is known by upstream, and they think it likely that it is fixed in
KDE 3.4. However, they don't know exactly when or where the fix was
committed, making backporting extremely difficult.

However, it is important to note that this is the first and only report of
this problem that mentions data loss, and it seems likely that the data
loss was related to the power-cycling of the box. The bug itself is merely
a kmail lockup, and does not, insofar as the many other reporters of this
problem have mentioned, cause data loss. Hence we are lowering the severity
to important.

Of course, we (the Debian KDE team) will continue to watch this issue and if
a solution becomes available, will ensure that it reaches Sarge.

Cheers,
Christopher Martin
