Bug#386240: kleopatra: exits with error after startup
Package: kleopatra Version: 4:3.5.4-1 Severity: important I start kleopatra from the command line. The first thing I see is a message box saying (translated) The crypto module cannot be installed. The certificate manager will not be terminated. I press OK, kleopatra exits. That's it. I've never done any conscious work with that program (although KDE probably uses it implicitly), and to be sure I purged and reinstalled it. I don't find any information about this behavior in the package description. So this package is broken for me, and I have no idea how to fix it. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.15-1-k7 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Versions of packages kleopatra depends on: ii dirmngr 0.9.5-2 server for managing certificate re ii gnupg-agent 1.9.20-2GNU privacy guard - password agent ii gnupg2 1.9.20-2GNU privacy guard - a free PGP rep ii gpgsm1.9.20-2GNU privacy guard - S/MIME version ii kdelibs4c2a 4:3.5.4-3 core libraries and binaries for al ii libc62.3.6.ds1-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgcc1 1:4.1.1-11 GCC support library ii libkleopatra14:3.5.4-1 KDE GnuPG interface libraries ii libqt3-mt3:3.3.6-2 Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime v ii libstdc++6 4.1.1-11The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii pinentry-qt [pinentry-x11] 0.7.2-3 Qt-based PIN or pass-phrase entry kleopatra recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#386283: khelpcenter: important searches not available; available searches are broken
Package: khelpcenter Version: 4:3.5.4-2 Severity: important The components of Khelpcenter's search facility are all either broken or incomplete. Users cannot search numerous categories of documentation that can nevertheless be browsed, including (perhaps most importantly) Info pages, the KDE Users' Manual, KDE FAQ. Maybe this should be a separate 'wishlist' report, but it seems to me not much 'help' and thus more than a mere wishlist item to omit Info pages. Khelpcenter claims it will search man pages and application manuals, but many simple searches in both areas fail. For example, man page searches for make and sed yield no results, and Application Manual searches for kdvi, dvi, kgamma, and gamma all yield no results, even though manuals for KDvi and KGamma exist and are browsable in KHelpcenter. (Yes, I've built the index with htdig; the index status is reported OK.) Some searches in these categories do work, e.g., sudoku finds the KSudoku manual and other relevant documents, and adduser finds two appropriate man pages. Also, ironically, a search for kdvi in the Man Pages index finds the kdvi man page. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (700, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.17-8-corax-1 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages khelpcenter depends on: ii kdelibs4c2a 4:3.5.4-3 core libraries and binaries for al ii libc62.3.6.ds1-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgcc1 1:4.1.1-11 GCC support library ii libqt3-mt3:3.3.6-2 Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime v ii libstdc++6 4.1.1-11The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 khelpcenter recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#386286: khelpcenter: user-defined menu items appear as application manuals
Package: khelpcenter Version: 4:3.5.4-2 Severity: normal I have used the KMenuEdit application (via the KDE Control Panel) to add a few items to my applications menu. I have some top-level items and a couple of folders (e.g., Emacsen, VNCs) containing additional items. In KHelpcenter, the folder items (e.g., Emacsen, VNCs) are inappropriately listed as categories of Application Manuals. Doing this might make sense if there were any provision in KMenuEdit to associate a menu item with a specified application manual. Even if this feature is expected to be implemented in the near future, however, Helpcenter should probably exclude empty folders (i.e., folders containing zero items associated with a manual), and I hope users will be able in KMenuEdit to mark folders explicitly for omission from the Helpcenter list. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (700, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.17-8-corax-1 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages khelpcenter depends on: ii kdelibs4c2a 4:3.5.4-3 core libraries and binaries for al ii libc62.3.6.ds1-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgcc1 1:4.1.1-11 GCC support library ii libqt3-mt3:3.3.6-2 Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime v ii libstdc++6 4.1.1-11The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 khelpcenter recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#386336: Kdesktop crashes when copying things to the kde clipboard under special configuration (patch available)
Package: kdesktop Version: 4:3.5.4-2 I'm using KDE 3.5 on my Debian testing system (latest packages) in Kiosk mode. When copying text or files to the kde clipboard kdesktop crashes. In fact kdesktop receives signal 11 (konsole: *** kdesktop (3860) got signal 11). I guessed it could be something about the configuration. After some time of try 'n error, I figured out that this is a problem about the editable_desktop_icons=false setting in kdeglobals. When deleted or set to true, kdesktop doesn't crash. I've also sucessfully reproduced crashes on my ordinary desktop machine (also Debian testing with latest updates): Just add editable_desktop_icons=false to the [KDE Action Restrictions]-section in kdeglobals, restart kdesktop (so it reads the updated kdeglobals), start kedit, mark a text and copy it by using either the right-mouse-menu or the copy-button to the kde clipboard and kdesktop crashes. I've already reported this bug to the kde bug database and in the svn repository they've fixed the bug in a few hours :). You may refer to http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133665. Please incorporate the patch into the kdesktop package. Thank you, Michael -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Bug#325292: Is this bug still alive?
Hi, I am just upgrading testing and apt-listchanges shows me this bug as still alive. It is really weird, because apparently no KDE application was harmed when upgrading qt library. Is it still alive?
