Bug#491879: kwin does not launch automatically at starting an session (update/workaround)

2008-08-07 Thread Hans-J. Ullrich
I discovered, that ALL applications, which are running at the moment, when
the Save Settings-button is pressed, are mentioned to ksmserverrc.

This happens at logout.

ALL running applications are marked with a comma, so at next start they will
not be loaded (yes, kwin, too !).

Solution (workaround):

1. Save your settings and logout of KDE

2. open your ~/.kde/share/config/ksmserverrc withe an editor

3. remove the comma before the required applications

in this example, remove the comma before the word konsole

restartCommand2=,konsole,-session,117f0100010475125550017960004

so it looks like this

restartCommand2=konsole,-session,117f0100010475125550017960004

4. save and start KDE. Works !

I hope some developer might find out the reason for this wrong behaviour.

Good luck !

Hans

 I opened kaffeine, i was playing TV from dvb device.
 I closed kaffeine, but it was still listed by 'ps aux' command as like as
 it'd
 be in execution.
 Then i start to suffering some problems:
 Safe file dialog in KDE applications (ksnapshot, kolourpaint) waste almost 10
 minutes to launch, during that time, application fall in freeze.
 KMail waste some minutes for launch.

 Kaffeine version: 0.8.7-1

 Please tell me what can I do to help fixing this bug.

For now, I am reassigning to kaffeine, maybe their maintainers have any hit.

Bug#494190: bad unread messages number for imap directories

2008-08-07 Thread Michal Hocko
Package: kmail
Version: 4:3.5.9-5
Severity: normal

It seems that kmail doesn't show correct number of unread messages in my
IMAP folders after check for new emails is done. After I go to the
directory, number is corrected to the actual value.

My IMAP setting is as follows:
* General:
Account, name, passwd, host and port set properly
Show hidden folders, Load attachments on demand, Include in manual mail
check, Enable interval mail checking, Check interval (5m), Identity (Default)
all other options are disabled.
* Security
Encryption (SSL), Authentication method (Login)
* Filtering
disabled

This behavior is rather annoying because I have to enter email folders to
check for new emails as the shown numbers are not reliable.

Hi,

During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build on
i386.

Relevant part:
 dh_install -pkscreensaver-xsavers
 cp: cannot stat
 `./debian/tmp/usr/share/applnk/System/ScreenSavers/flurry.desktop': No such
 file or directory
 dh_install: command returned error code 256
 make: *** [binary-install/kscreensaver-xsavers] Error 1

The full build log is available from:
   http://people.debian.org/~lucas/logs/2008/08/07

A list of current common problems and possible solutions is available at
http://wiki.debian.org/qa.debian.org/FTBFS . You're welcome to contribute!

About the archive rebuild: The rebuild was done on about 50 AMD64 nodes
of the Grid'5000 platform, using a clean chroot containing a sid i386
environment. Internet was not accessible from the build systems.

Bug#493363: #493363 Some SVG images make kio_thumbnail / Konqueror take 95% CPU and more than 1GB of memory

2008-08-07 Thread Ana Guerrero

 Severity justification: This bug allocates memory in an infinite
 loop, which leads to the system near-freezing while thrashing,
 until the Xserver crashes.
 From opening the attached minimal test case image in Konqueror,
 it's less than ten seconds before the system starts thrashing.

 In SVGAnimatedPointsImpl::parsePoints there's a for loop over an
 iterator. Each time through the loop takes two elements from the
 iterator, but only tests the exit condition once.

 A malformed SVG polygon with an odd number of coordinates will
 trigger the bug. A minimal test case is attached, as is a patch
 which will silently ignore such malformed polygons (while still
 rendering the rest of the SVG).

Nice. could you forward this patch to the KDE SVN, so they can merge it into
KDE 3.5.10?
I would do but it is your patch :D

Ana
