Bug#513881: reason for crash
I've been looking at konqueror-nsplugins, and I think I see why it is crashing with gtk-qt-engine installed. Basically, nspluginviewer is a qt4 application that loads plugins, including some that are gtk based (such as flashplugin- nonfree). When such a gtk using plugin is loaded and gtk-qt-engine is in use, both qt3 and qt4 are loaded. It is similar to the situation mentioned here: http://labs.trolltech.com/forums/topic/414 Where Trolltech said it would not work with default builds of qt3 and qt4. So I think the Conflicts is appropriate to add. Josh -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org

The revision http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=824777 correct this problem for kde 4. I rearrenged the patch to be applied on 3.5.9 version (attached). With this patch i'm able to use flash 10 beta1 in kde 3.5.9 since June without any problem. Is there any chance to have this patch applied in lenny release of kde? it will make kde 3.5.9 compatible with future release of flash. Regards, Andrea. Workaround a certain popular plugin's version 10 beta's inability to figure out that 13 < 16. (AKA, stub out some ABI r16 methods that get called despite us claiming only ABI r13 support. This crash doesn't occur when using gtk-qt-engine-kde4, or neither of them. This applies at least to gtk-qt-engine 1:0.8-4, and is working with gtk-qt-engine-kde4 1.1+svn145-1. I can provide a backtrace if anyone is interested in trying to fix this, but I'm assuming that compatibility between these versions isn't much of a priority, which is why I suggest that the packages should conflict. -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages konqueror-nsplugins depends on: ii kdebase-runtime 4:4.2.0-1 runtime components from the offici ii kdelibs5 4:4.2.0-3 core libraries for all KDE 4 appli ii libc6 2.7-18 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libglib2.0-0 2.18.4-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libqt4-dbus 4.4.3-2Qt 4 D-Bus module ii libqtcore44.4.3-2Qt 4 core module ii libqtgui4 4.4.3-2Qt 4 GUI module ii libstdc++64.3.3-3The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 2:1.1.5-2 X11 client-side library ii libxt61:1.0.5-3 X11 toolkit intrinsics library konqueror-nsplugins recommends no packages. konqueror-nsplugins suggests no packages. -- no debconf information --- End Message --- --- Begin Message --- Version: 4:4.0.98-1 Looking through KDE's websvn at the versions of kdebase uploaded to Debian, it seems this is likely the first KDE4 version that included the fix mentioned earlier in this bug report. koffice override disparity
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the override file for the following file(s): koffice-dev_2.0.0-1_amd64.deb: package says section is kde, override says libdevel. Please note that a list of new sections were recently added to the archive: cli-mono, database, debug, fonts, gnu-r, gnustep, haskell, httpd, java, kernel, lisp, localization, ocaml, php, ruby, vcs, video, xfce, zope. At this time a script was used to reclassify packages into these sections. If this is the case, please only reply to this email if the new section is inappropriate, otherwise please update your package at the next upload. Either the package or the override file is incorrect. If you think the override is correct and the package wrong please fix the package so that this disparity is fixed in the next upload. If you feel the override is incorrect then please reply to this mail and explain why. Please INCLUDE the list of packages as seen above, or we won't be able to deal with your mail due to missing information. [NB: this is an automatically generated mail; if you replied to one like it before and have not received a response yet, please ignore this mail. Your reply needs to be processed by a human and will be in due course, but until then the installer will send these automated mails; sorry.] -- Debian distribution maintenance software (This message was generated automatically; if you believe that there is a problem with it please contact the archive administrators by mailing ftpmas...@debian.org) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Incomplete upload found in Debian upload queue
Probably you are the uploader of the following file(s) in the Debian upload queue directory: koffice_2.0.0-1.diff.gz koffice_2.0.0-1.dsc koffice_2.0.0-1_all.deb koffice_2.0.0.orig.tar.gz This looks like an upload, but a .changes file is missing, so the job cannot be processed. If no .changes file arrives within 23:18:01, the files will be deleted. If you didn't upload those files, please just ignore this message.
