Bug#560018: marked as done (kxkb: disables layout switching shortcut when set to indicator-only)

(NB: If you are a system administrator and have no idea what this message is talking about, this may indicate a serious mail system misconfiguration somewhere. Please contact ow...@bugs.debian.org immediately.) -- 560018: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=560018 Debian Bug Tracking System Contact ow...@bugs.debian.org with problems ---BeginMessage--- Package: kdebase-workspace-bin Version: 4:4.3.2-2 Severity: normal The indicator only option of the KDE Keyboard Layout Switcher has always been used to allow the keyboard layout to be switched by other means, and just be indicated in KDE. This is also how I've used it: I set a layout-switching option in the XKB configuration, and used it. Now, it breaks: indicator only means my XKB-set layout-switching shortcut does not work. My XKB settings do make it into the session: $ setxkbmap -print xkb_keymap { xkb_keycodes { include evdev+aliases(qwerty) }; xkb_types { include complete }; xkb_compat{ include complete+ledscroll(group_lock)}; xkb_symbols { include pc+us+il(katef):2+inet(evdev)+group(alt_caps_toggle) }; xkb_geometry { include pc(pc101) }; }; The switching option is the +group(alt_caps_toggle) under xkb_symbols -- but alt_caps does nothing (actually, worse than nothing: it is interpreted as caps). BTW: The reason I'm doing this is because I want to use my own variation on the il layout, which I named katef. I don't know what that :2 next to it means. What I put in /etc/default/keyboard is: XKBMODEL=pc101 XKBLAYOUT=us,il XKBVARIANT=,katef XKBOPTIONS=grp:alt_caps_toggle,grp_led:scroll Thanks, Shai. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.31-1-686 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages kdebase-workspace-bin depends on: ii kaboom1.1.2 The Debian KDE settings migration ii kdebase-runtime 4:4.3.2-1 runtime components from the offici ii kdebase-workspace-data4:4.3.2-2 shared data files for the KDE 4 ba ii kdebase-workspace-kgreet- 4:4.3.2-2 KDE greet libraries for authentica ii kdelibs5 4:4.3.2-2 core libraries for all KDE 4 appli ii libc6 2.10.2-2 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.16-2 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libfontconfig12.6.0-4generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.3.11-1 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libgcc1 1:4.4.2-3 GCC support library ii libgl1-mesa-glx [libgl1] 7.6-1 A free implementation of the OpenG ii libglib2.0-0 2.22.3-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libice6 2:1.0.6-1 X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libkephal44:4.3.2-2 API for easier handling of multihe ii libkfontinst4 4:4.3.2-2 Libraries for font installation in ii libknotificationitem-1-1 4:4.3.2-1 library for new way of handling sy ii libkscreensaver5 4:4.3.2-2 Library of the KDE Screensaver sys ii libkworkspace44:4.3.2-2 Library for the kdebase workspace ii libnepomukquery4 4:4.3.2-2 Library for the nepomuk search ii libnepomukqueryclient44:4.3.2-2 Library for the nepomuk client sea ii libpam0g 1.1.0-4Pluggable Authentication Modules l ii libphonon44:4.5.3-4 Qt 4 Phonon module ii libplasma34:4.3.2-2 library for the KDE 4 Plasma deskt ii libpng12-01.2.40-1 PNG library - runtime ii libpolkit-dbus2 0.9-4 library for accessing PolicyKit vi ii libpolkit-grant2 0.9-4 library for obtaining privileges v ii libpolkit-qt0 0.9.2-2PolicyKit-qt library ii libpolkit20.9-4 library for accessing PolicyKit ii libprocessui4 4:4.3.2-2 Library for ksysguard process user ii libqimageblitz4 1:0.0.4-4 QImageBlitz image effects library ii libqt4-dbus 4:4.5.3-4 Qt 4 D-Bus module ii libqt4-qt3support 4:4.5.3-4 Qt 3 compatibility library for Qt ii libqt4-script 4:4.5.3-4
