Bug#823276: [akregator] Akregator krashes with KHTML errors
Package: akregator Version: 4:4.14.10-2 Severity: normal I originally reported this bug at https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357495 , which the higher powers summarily closed because they use qtwebengine instead of KHTML now. Whilst I have a couple dozen feeds, only the Slashdot RSS feed causes the problem, and only on certain posts. Similar to #797524, I suspect that a tag or some sort of coding is causing the crash (crash dumps are in the KDE- reported bug but I can easily generate more for Debian if desired). Therefore, this bug happens all the time on the Slashdot RSS feed but not consistently on every post. Only some of them. Sometimes, the offending post doesn't crash Akregator when I start the program back up. --- System information. --- Architecture: amd64 Kernel: Linux 4.5.0-1-amd64 Debian Release: stretch/sid 500 testing ftp.ca.debian.org 500 stable dl.google.com 500 sid linux.dropbox.com 400 unstableftp.ca.debian.org --- Package information. --- Depends(Version) | Installed -+-=== kde-runtime (>> 4:4.10) | 4:15.08.3-1+b1 libc6 (>= 2.4) | libgcc1 (>= 1:4.1.1) | libkcmutils4 (>= 4:4.13) | libkdecore5 (>= 4:4.13) | libkdepim4(= 4:4.14.1-1) | libkdeui5(>= 4:4.13) | libkhtml5(>= 4:4.13) | libkio5 (>= 4:4.13) | libknotifyconfig4(>= 4:4.13) | libkontactinterface4a(>= 4:4.14) | libkparts4 (>= 4:4.13) | libkpimutils4(>= 4:4.14) | libplasma3 (>= 4:4.13) | libqt4-dbus (>= 4:4.5.3) | libqt4-xml (>= 4:4.5.3) | libqtcore4 (>= 4:4.8.0) | libqtgui4 (>= 4:4.8.0) | libsolid4(>= 4:4.13) | libstdc++6(>= 4.1.1) | libsyndication4 (>= 4:4.14) | Package's Recommends field is empty. Bug#823244: plasma-workspace: default icons on taskbar for some applications
Package: plasma-workspace Version: 4:5.4.3-2 Severity: minor Dear Maintainer, On taskbar some of icons are not showed properly. For some applications instead of application icon (which is visible e.g. in program launcher) there is default icon (with Oxygen set of icons it is gear icon; with Breeze it's something like console). Most of applications have coorect icons, but applications like ksysguard, gimp, designer (Qt), virtualbox have wrong icon. This happens in old and fresh instalation of Debian (testing). Bug#823243: kde-plasma-desktop: Screen is black after user switch back to first login after long period
Package: kde-plasma-desktop Version: 5:90 Severity: important Tags: upstream Dear Maintainer, I use the KDE plasma with multiple users at home on my Debian Testing system. We keep different sessions logged in at once. When I do a user switch after around 8 hours or more, the screen remains black. Only the mouse pointer remains visible. If I kill the X server I see that my sessions was blanked. This happens with both accounts. Going back and forth between sessions does not work. The other session is still available if I use Ctrl+alt+F7. Also I'm not enterily clear how I can bypass this problem. If I do a user switch after only an hour, the normal log-in screen is display and I'm able to log in. My system has ample system memory for 2 sessions. Bug#823159: phonon: No Sound at all on Thinkpad T560
Hey dear people, I just noticed, that in Mint 17.3 Sound works on the Live-iso although they use the older 3.19 Kernel. Maybe that helps. Keep up your good works! Needed D-Bus patch for Qt 5.6.0 (experimental)
Dear Debian people, There is an issue in d-bus threading in Qt 5.6.0 that locks up (some plugins of) kded. I'm forwarding a mail by David that contains the link to the patch for this which was green-lit by Thiago (Qt D-Bus maintainer). This affects the latest Qt from the experimental. > Important Qt 5.6.0 notes > David Edmundson david at davidedmundson.co.uk > Wed Mar 16 13:48:35 UTC 2016 > > Qt 5.6.0 has a few noticable regressions since a DBus change, this causes > a problem where kded may deadblock breaking functionality in Plasma and > potentially any frameworks based application. > > Before shipping Qt 5.6.0 *please* apply the following patch: > https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/c/151459/ > without it, Plasma may completely fail to load. > > The Qt DBus maintainer also recommends that distros backport this: > http://lists.qt-project.org/pipermail/development/2016-March/025272.html > > I would also like to see: > https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/c/151496/ > https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/c/151340/ > included, but they are less important. > > David Cheers, Ivan
