Your message dated Sun, 28 Mar 2010 16:45:47 +0200 with message-id <201003281645.47804.ewoer...@kde.org> and subject line Re: kspread chokes on Fibonacci sequence has caused the Debian Bug report #511176, regarding kspread chokes on Fibonacci sequence to be marked as done. This means that you claim that the problem has been dealt with. If this is not the case it is now your responsibility to reopen the Bug report if necessary, and/or fix the problem forthwith. (NB: If you are a system administrator and have no idea what this message is talking about, this may indicate a serious mail system misconfiguration somewhere. Please contact ow...@bugs.debian.org immediately.) -- 511176: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=511176 Debian Bug Tracking System Contact ow...@bugs.debian.org with problems --- Begin Message --- Package: kspread Version: 1:1.6.3-7 Severity: normal To reproduce the problem, do the following: 1. Create a new blank spreadsheet. 2. Put 1 in both cells A1 and A2. 3. In cell A3, put =A1+A2. 4. With cell A3 highlighted, click on the dot in the lower right hand corner and of the cell and drag it down to cell A50. Expected result: The first 50 terms of the Fibonacci sequence should be calculated immediately and displayed in the cells. Actual result: The program appears to freeze while eating CPU time and leaking memory. At this point, kspread must be forced to terminate. A few more notes: 1. If you copy the formula (as done in step 4) in smaller amounts, the bug is not observed and the Fibonacci sequence is visible (overflows aside). 2. However, if you then delete cell A3, kspread appears to freeze again. -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26custom Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages kspread depends on: ii kdelibs4c2a4:3.5.10.dfsg.1-1 core libraries and binaries for al ii kexi 1:1.6.3-7 integrated database environment fo ii koffice-libs 1:1.6.3-7 common libraries and binaries for ii libc6 2.7-18GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgcc11:4.3.2-1.1 GCC support library ii libice62:1.0.4-1 X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libpng12-0 1.2.27-2 PNG library - runtime ii libqt3-mt 3:3.3.8b-5Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime v ii libsm6 2:1.0.3-2 X11 Session Management library ii libstdc++6 4.3.2-1.1 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 2:1.1.5-2 X11 client-side library ii libxext6 2:1.0.4-1 X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-12 compression library - runtime Versions of packages kspread recommends: ii khelpcente 4:4.0.0.really.3.5.9.dfsg.1-6 help center for KDE kspread suggests no packages. -- no debconf information --- End Message --- --- Begin Message --- Version: 1:1.9.94-1 The bug you reported has been fixed in KOffice 2.0 --- End Message ---

I couldn't find any way to turn it off in the settings. I mostly use 'bounce' to bounce wrongly directed messages to our support address. The bounce then reveals my personal email address to the customers which is not what I desire. I even more often use 'bounce' to recirect spam to my spamtrap (doing some bayes learning etc.). This creates a DSN to the fake sender address of the spam mail which is one of the badest things to do. -Benoit- -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24 (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=de_CH, LC_CTYPE=de_CH (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages kmail depends on: ii kdebase-kio-plug 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-6core I/O slaves for KDE ii kdelibs4c2a 4:3.5.10.dfsg.1-0lenny1 core libraries and binaries for al ii kdepim-kio-plugi 4:3.5.9-5 KDE pim I/O Slaves ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.20-2Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libaudio21.9.1-5 Network Audio System - shared libr ii libc62.7-18 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libfontconfig1 2.6.0-3 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.3.7-2 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libgcc1 1:4.3.2-1.1 GCC support library ii libice6 2:1.0.4-1 X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libidn11 1.8+20080606-1 GNU libidn library, implementation ii libjpeg626b-14 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libkcal2b4:3.5.9-5 KDE calendaring library ii libkdepim1a 4:3.5.9-5 KDE PIM library ii libkleopatra14:3.5.9-5 KDE GnuPG interface libraries ii libkmime24:3.5.9-5 KDE MIME interface library ii libkpimidentitie 4:3.5.9-5 KDE PIM user identity information ii libksieve0 4:3.5.9-5 KDE mail/news message filtering li ii libmimelib1c2a 4:3.5.9-5 KDE mime library ii libpng12-0 1.2.27-2+lenny2 PNG library - runtime ii libqt3-mt3:3.3.8b-5+b1 Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime v ii libsm6 2:1.0.3-2 X11 Session Management library ii libstdc++6 4.3.2-1.1 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 2:1.1.5-2 X11 client-side library ii libxcursor1 1:1.1.9-1 X cursor management library ii libxext6 2:1.0.4-1 X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii libxft2 2.1.12-3FreeType-based font drawing librar ii libxi6 2:1.1.4-1 X11 Input extension library ii libxinerama1 2:1.0.3-2 X11 Xinerama extension library ii libxrandr2 2:1.2.3-1 X11 RandR extension library ii libxrender1 1:0.9.4-2 X Rendering Extension client libra ii libxt6 1:1.0.5-3 X11 toolkit intrinsics library ii perl 5.10.0-19 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-12 compression library - runtime Versions of packages kmail recommends: ii kmailcvt 4:3.5.9-5 KDE KMail mail folder converter ii procmail 3.22-16Versatile e-mail processor Versions of packages kmail suggests: ii clamav 0.94.dfsg.2-1 anti-virus utility for Unix - comm ii gnupg 1.4.9-3 GNU privacy guard - a free PGP rep ii gnupg-agent2.0.9-3.1 GNU privacy guard - password agent ii kaddressbook 4:3.5.9

Bug#482609: marked as done (kdepim-kio-plugins: kmail downloads the same messages in each mail check)

Please contact ow...@bugs.debian.org immediately.) -- 482609: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=482609 Debian Bug Tracking System Contact ow...@bugs.debian.org with problems --- Begin Message --- Package: kdepim-kio-plugins Version: 4:3.5.9-2 Severity: normal I use kmail with spamassassin to get and read my e-mail. I receive tons of spam since my address is public (you can find it at a lot of places, not the least Debian BTS) but I receive legitimate messages at the same address. It is an IMAP account. Kmail regularly checks for new e-mail. It is normal to download complete messages to check them through spamassassin. But the problem is that kmail, through kio-imap, download every message every time. So all messages are completely downloaded, checked and then reuploaded all times, thus wasting a lot of bandwidth and (even worst) time. Sometimes, so much time than the next regular check starts just after finishing uploading messages from the previous. Is not possible to make kio-imap to cache which messages have been spamassassin checked? Problem is reproducible: 1 take an IMAP account on some server 2 configure kmail to check that account regularly, with a relatively short period 3 configure kmail to check all incoming messages through spamassasin (standard local spamassassin) 4 publish your e-mail address This problem causes another, harder one. Sometimes, if you have a small failure in your internet connexion, or just a burst of load, kmail starts a new check without finishing the previous one, and shows you the same message several times on screen. It has happened a lot of times, and I've checked into the server real directories and there are no such messages there. So there is some sort of caching, but it does not work well. If you click one of the repeated messages, kmail downloads it and shows it to you. If you click the other, kmail shows you an empty message. Refreshing does not help. Trying to move the "empty" message to another folder of the same IMAP account causes kmail to crash. If you restart kmail almost immediately, since kio-imap4 is still alive, the problem persists and you still see duplicated messages (I've seen once octuplicated messages, and several times triplicated and quadruplicated ones). To put in one sentence: kmail+spamassassin on IMAP sucks (not intended to be offensive, just my feeling). And I need kmail and spamassasin because my local folders are maildir and i receive tons (not uncommon 200/day) spam messages. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-1-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=es_ES.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=es_ES.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages kdepim-kio-plugins depends on: ii kdelibs4c2a4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-4 core libraries and binaries for al ii kdepim-kresources 4:3.5.9-2 KDE pim resource plugins ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.20-2 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libaudio2 1.9.1-2 Network Audio System - shared libr ii libc6 2.7-10GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libfontconfig1 2.5.0-2 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.3.5-1+b1FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libgcc11:4.3.0-3 GCC support library ii libice62:1.0.4-1 X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libidn11 1.8-1 GNU libidn library, implementation ii libjpeg62 6b-14 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libkcal2b 4:3.5.9-2 KDE calendaring library ii libkdepim1a4:3.5.9-2 KDE PIM library ii libkmime2 4:3.5.9-2 KDE MIME interface library ii libpng12-0 1.2.27-1 PNG library - runtime ii libqt3-mt 3:3.3.8b-5Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime v ii libsasl2-2 2.1.22.dfsg1-20 Cyrus SASL - authentication abstra ii libsm6 2:1.0.3-1+b1 X11 Session Management library ii libstdc++6 4.3.0

It would be nice if it could be fixed. Galeon (Gnome) wants to start kmail up as 'kmail %s' where %s is replaced with this sort of thing: mailto:?Subject=Debian%20Bug%20report%20logs%3A%20package%20kmail&Body=http%3A%2F%2Fbugs.debian.org%2Fcgi-bin%2Fpkgreport.cgi%3Fpkg%3Dkmail which seems reasonable enough, given that this seems to be how many websites use mailto: to set a subject (and perhaps a body) - is there a standard? In particular, it uses this for its 'Send link as...' menu item.
