This works fine:

Only mildly annoying issue is that one needs select (proposed) output
folder for each filter separately/manually.

Upstream has replied that there seems to be no chance to fix this, so I'm
marking it as wontfix.

mail filters may need to be redone :-(

problems for other users when this package hits stable after next
