No. But I have to pay for connection time and traffic and the download would
cost therefore about $100!!

DOSemu 0.64.4 is actually very x86 specific: it uses the vm86 system call
directly. The newer versions (0.98 and 0.99) also do that, but they have
less x86 dependencies and have a generally cleaner architecture.

You might be interested to know that Alberto Vignani ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) is
working on a CPU emulator for DOSemu. I don't know about the current
state, but you can get his patch against DOSemu 0.99.12.2 from
http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Horizon/7677/ .

www.cheapbytes.com has them. $8.95 US. That should keep it under 30 bucks
even with shipping costs.

32 hours isn't bad! You cannot possibly expect to order and receive a CD
in less time than that, can you?

Of course. :-)

I'm searching for a more detailed explanation (than in the man page) of
the available command line options, and the file format the "-xkbdb" and
the "-xkbmap" option expects.

Thanks in advance.

This automatic hiding of the option was presumably intended as a
convenience. Unfortunately, judging by the discussions in
debian-sparc, it must have caused hundreds of hours of people's time
to be wasted ...

Have you tried the man page Xsun(1x)?

Hi there,

can you give me a hint where to find docs about the XSun X server?
Everything is welcome! :-)

debian-sparc CD

1999-12-10 Thread M. Plagmann
Hi,
where can I buy (cheap!) the debian sparc CD's. The local New Zealand
dealer has only the i386 CD's and you usually pay for a bunch of rather
useless guide books. Anyone in the group who burns them for 30 bucks or
so? I am unfortunatelly unable to download the images and toast them
myself (estimated download time is 32 hours).

It's one of those perverse realities, I'm afraid. If your disk has
already been formatted with DOS-style partitions, the "s" option does not
appear. It is, however, present, even though invisible; just type an "s"
at the prompt, and you should see a Sun disklabel screen.

In any case, you will also need to install SILO, so that the firmware will
know how to boot from your disk. This ought to happen at the "make Linux
bootable from hard disk" step.

Best wishes!
