Re: sparc 5 printing
That would explain the errors I am getting. So do you know what I should do to use the printer on this port?? And then if I remember correctly you can use the same modules: parport and parport_pc and then print using lp. No, old SPARC's do not have this PC-style hardware. Re: Sparc linux kernel 2.5
* [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [020827 03:49]: I am looking for a 2.5 kernel for a sparc4c. I tried 2 linus trees (18 and 31) but they didn't compile at all. I checked the kernel source finder and vger.rutgers.edu and vger.samba.org without success. Any ideas how I can get a working 2.5 kernel tree are welcome. At the moment, you can't. The closest thing there is to it is a bitkeeper tree at http://linux-wli.bkbits.net:8080/linux-2.5-sparc32 that Pete Zaitcev has been putting a ton of work into. The latest known working kernel for sun4c is 2.4.19 (and probably the 2.4.20-pre ones).

What about the 2.5.x kernels for sun4m? Anyone got some working? Marcus Brinkmann [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: You are mistaken. Do yourself a favour and get a book about (pseudo) random number generators, entropy, hash functions and cryptography. If you don't start with random numbers, you can turn the numbers upside down, it won't get any more random than what you started with. There's also a nice comment at the top of drivers/char/random.c that (I assume) Ted Ts'o wrote. It's a nice, succinct explanation of many things regarding linux randomness and randomness in general. --
