FTBFS ruby-kgio, need help

2013-12-25 Thread Hleb Valoshka
Hello!

I'm packaging ruby gem kgio (ruby-kgio package) and almost every time
there problems with sparc architecture.

The latest problem is related to readv/writev functions. There two
releases of package (2.8.0-1, 2.8.1-1) which ftbfs, so the problem is
reproducible.

As you can see here [0] and there [1], the package was built without
problems on all official architectures and on bigger part of
unofficial, even on sparc64. But not on sparc.

I have no sparc pc and I'm not a DD to have access to porter boxes.
And afaik qemu does not support sparc properly.

I thought that problem is related to linux 2.6.32 as linux 2.6.37 has
some changes with readv/writev that make eglibc testsuit to fail, but
I was unable to reproduce failure with i386 and amd64.

Try to set `rootdelay=N' kernel option. See #678696 and merged bugs.

ruby-kgio crashes on sparc

2012-08-11 Thread Hleb Valoshka
Hallo!

Can any body of sparc-porters assist with ruby-kgio on sparc?

It crashes during tests with message about invalid pointer passed to
free() or unmap(). But it is has no problem on every other arch, even
alpha, so this crash looks like sparc-specific one.

There is build logs for version 2.7.3-1 and ruby 1.9.3.{0-2,194-1} : [1].

For the first time build was attempted on 2012-03-15, while on
2012-02-21 previous version (2.7.2-1) was packaged successfully.
Versions 2.7.2-1 and 2.7.3-1 differ only in several LOC which can't
cause the crash because they are for kFreeBSD not for Linux.

I'm not a debian-sparc subscriber so please make a CC to my address.
