I own the same card and it used to work without any problems with all
2.4 and 2.6 kernels I ever used. What messages do appear in the
system log, when you load the bttv module?

Unload all bttv/v4l-related modules, then type modprobe bttv, and read
the kernel log with "dmesg". Send the relevant lines.

The contents of /proc/interrupts could also be interesting. I've had
problems when I had my card in the first PCI slot, which is hard-wired
to the same interrupt as my vga card in my motherboard.

Regards,
Jim

The interrupts are
10: 66229 XT-PIC uhci_hcd, eth0, bttv0

Probably I need to specify other card and tuner parameters since the
card is autodetected with card=36 (Lifeview FlyVideo 98FM LR50 / Typhoon
TView TV/FM Tuner) though it's a TerraTV+ (card=28) with a Philips PAL
tuner.

I`ve attached the dmesg output.

Cheers
Maritn

Terratec TerraTV+ doesn't work

2005-05-26 Thread martin schmidt
i'm using a terratec terratv+ card with kernel 2.6.10 and the sarge
distribution.

the following modules are built:

tuner
bttv
video_buf
firmware_class
i2c_algo_bit
v4l2_common
btcx_risc
i2c_core
videodev
rtc

lspci says:
:00:0a.0 Multimedia video controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878
Video Capture (rev 11)

Subsystem: Anritsu Corp. FlyVideo'98 - Video (with FM Tuner)
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 10
Memory at dfefe000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=4K]
Capabilities: [44] Vital Product Data
Capabilities: [4c] Power Management version 2

:00:0a.1 Multimedia controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Audio
Capture (rev 11)

Subsystem: Anritsu Corp.: Unknown device 1852
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 10
Memory at dfeff000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=4K]
Capabilities: [44] Vital Product Data
Capabilities: [4c] Power Management version 2

the card is used with tvtime which doesn't get a signal anyway.

modprobe options for
card: bttv card=28 (terratec terratv+)
tuner: type=0 (temic pal) or type=1 (phillips pal)
