Applications wishing to be oblivious of the OS- and device-dependant properties of a CD-ROM can use this library. Some support for disk image types like BIN/CUE and NRG is available, so applications that use this library also have the ability to read disc images as though they were CD's. Immediate uses are VCDImager, a navigation-capable Video CD plugin and CD-DA plugin for the media player xine. A sample utility, cdinfo, is included which displayings CD info. Upstream Author : Carl Worth <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (and others) * URL : http://xr.xwin.org/ * License : MIT/X Description : vector-based rendering API with cross-device output support Cairo provides a vector-based rendering API with cross-device output support. Currently supported output targets include the X Window System and in-memory image buffers. PostScript and PDF file output is planned. Cairo is designed to produce identical output on all output media while taking advantage of display hardware acceleration when available (eg. through the X Render Extension). . Cairo provides a stateful user-level API with support for the PDF 1.4 imaging model. Cairo provides operations including stroking and filling Bezier cubic splines, transforming and compositing translucent images, and antialiased text rendering. . Cairo was once named Xr, (or Xr/Xc), so if you came looking for that software, you've found it. Note : i don't intent to package this yet, as the cairo project has not yet made an official release and is still in an early state. I will provide unofficial packages on http://people.debian.org/~luther/cairo once the work is packageable (they are currently 5 libraries, each depending on installed version of the previous in the dependency chain, and some only have a bunch of includes, not nice for making separate packages out of those). I am currently in discussion with upstream about this. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux iliana 2.4.21 #1 SMP mer jui 2 13:52:52 CEST 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=fr_FR.ISO-8859-1, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.ISO-8859-1 --- Received: (at 205346-close) by bugs.debian.org; 23 Feb 2004 04:23:04 + >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Feb 22 20:23:04 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from newraff.debian.org [208.185.25.31] (mail) by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1Av7cW-V5-00; Sun, 22 Feb 2004 20:23:04 -0800 Received: from rdonald by newraff.debian.org with local (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1Av7Yf-0007Vn-00; Sun, 22 Feb 2004 23:19:05 -0500 From: Dave Beckett <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Katie: lisa $Revision: 1.27 $ Subject: Bug#205346: fixed in libcairo 0.1.17-4 Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sender: Randall Donald <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Sun, 22 Feb 2004 23:19:05 -0500 Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_02_22 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-3.0 required=4.0 tests=HAS_BUG_NUMBER autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_02_22 X-Spam-Level: Source: libcairo Source-Version: 0.1.

Using the pipe option you can debug over the network or any other communication medium. It can load many executable formats such as ELF and display and follow the original source even from multiple source file programs. There is support for breakpoints and watchpoints which can trap specific instructions (such as loading or executing specific instructions). Support for other features such as FPGA's is also available, allowing loading or any control required to drive a specific hardware device. It can also be used to create slides. It behaves similarly to other packages like Prosper, but has the advantage that it works together directly with pdflatex, but also with dvips. . Once you have installed the beamer class, the basic steps to create a beamer presentation are the following: - Specify beamer as document class instead of article. - Structure your LaTeX text using \section and \subsection commands. - Place the text of the individual slides inside \frame commands. - Run pdflatex on the text (or latex and dvips). . The beamer class has several useful features: You don't need any external programs to use it other than pdflatex, but it works also with dvips. You can easily and intuitively create sophisticated overlays. Finally, you can easily change the whole slide theme or only parts of it. Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Package name: beep-media-player-plugins Version : 0.2.1 Upstream Author : Artur Frysiak URL : http://www.t17.ikarnet.pl/~wiget/bmp-extra-plugins/download/ License : GPLv2 [*] Description : Extra plugins for Beep Media Player This is a collection of extra plugins that have been ported from xmms to beep-media-player. beep-media-player is itself a fork of xmms, ported to GTK2, and is already in sid. This plugin collection is not yet complete, but currently features the following: . - arts:output sound to aRts - ogg: write sound to file in Ogg/Vorbis format - crossfade: smooth song change - lirc:control BMP by InfraRed - scrobbler: AudioScrobbler.com online song rating support - status: show BMP status in GNOME/KDE panel - xf86audio: use multimedia keys to control BMP - musepack:play .mpc files - mplayer: play audio and video files by MPlayer - blursk: visualisation plugin inspired by Blur Scope - minilcd: support for external 2-line LCD, driven by LCDproc [*] I say GPLv2 because it has a COPYING file, but it does *not* have the proper copyright / license notices in most source files, or even in any README. I will work with upstream to correct this. The intent is clear enough, and in fact his hand is forced by all the code he is "borrowing" from the xmms world. signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Bug#234206: RFP: python-readyexec -- system to pre-load Python programs
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: python-readyexec Version : 0.4.0 Upstream Author : Frank J. Tobin <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> * URL : http://readyexec.sf.net/ * License : LGPL Description : system to pre-load Python programs ReadyExec is a client-server system designed to alleviate the problem of high-startup-costing applications which are run repeatedly (e.g., in procmail) and use their args, environment, stdio files and exit code to interact can be used within ReadyExec with very little work. Keywords: client server preload Platform: POSIX There are only 19 files in here total, a very simple system. The setup as client and server components (including security concerns, etc) might take a bit of configuration for a new packager. The reason I'm interested in this is because pyzor will function much more efficiently (loading only once) as described above. SpamAssassin's execution time is supposed to decrease with a similar type system (spamc) from x (called directly from procmail) to 1/2 x - 1/5 x for each email processed. Pyzor is a collaborative, networked system to detect and block spam using identifying digests of messages. I'm taking the liberty of copying the upstream author and the Pyzor package maintainer on this. Follow-up information should be submitted to the bug number (similar to 234xxx, whatever gets assigned) in the form [EMAIL PROTECTED] It can also be viewed or referenced in an upstream readme via http://bugs.debian.org/234xxx Regards, -- -- Grant Bowman<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux sarge 2.4.24-1-k6 #1 Wed Feb 4 22:36:52 EST 2004 i586 Locale: LANG=en, LC_CTYPE=en (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_US)

Good to see that someone is picking this up, but please read http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/index.html#howto-o on how to properly declare a ITA and http://www.debian.org/Bugs/server-control on how to retitle an existing bug and how to set its owner. I close this bug because duplicate bug reports in the wnpp package tend to lead to confusion. Gruesse, -- Frank Lichtenheld <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> www: http://www.djpig.de/
Bug#221915: Alternative udev package
Hello! I've been building udev packages for a long time, might be that you're interested in my work available from http://pint.pmhahn.de/pmhahn/debian/sid/u/udev/ - Uses cdbs+debhelper for packaging - Includes dbus support - Includes extra/scsi_id - Includes extra/multipath If you need a co-maintainer or do not longer ITP, email me. Do you have an ETA for uploading do experimental/unstable? BYtE Philipp -- Philipp Matthias Hahn <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> GPG/PGP: 9A540E39 @ keyrings.debian.org
