Bug#280806: what about two-way sync

2004-11-19 Thread Isaac Jones
I'm interested in two-way sync possibilities between cvs and darcs.
There is supposedly a tool for this at this web site which is not
responding:

http://nautilus.homeip.net/~lele/projects/cvsync

I would be more interested in packaging such a tool than a cvs2darcs,
one-way tool at the moment, since I have a lot of use for a two-way
sync. I'm hoping to investigate this other tool when it comes back
online.

peace,

  isaac

Bug#279503: ffmpeg2theora

2004-11-19 Thread Roland Mas
[EMAIL PROTECTED] (2004-11-18 22:41:14 +0100) :

 found http://lists.debian.org/debian-wnpp/2004/11/msg00103.html
today, and just wanted to let you know that a new version of
 ffmpeg2theora is out ;),

Okay. I may update the packages sometime next week.

more than that i wanted to say, that since i am using
debian/unstable on all my desktops, providing a debian subfolder and
keeping it in sync is something i could do once ffmpeg hits
 unstable.

As mentioned in the RFP bug report (CC'ed, and available at
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=279503), I'm not
really willing to maintain the package for now, merely providing
initial packaging for someone to adopt. But I assume if someone
eventually comes around to properly maintain it, he/she would probably
discuss the matter with you.

Thanks for the notification in any case :-)

Roland.

Description : Object-oriented concurrent language extensions for
C++

The uC++ project extends C++ with new constructs that provide
light-weight tasks on shared-memory uni- and multi-processors running
the UNIX operating system. uC++ clarifies and extends object-oriented
concurrency and provides more generality and functionality than
other systems (e.g., Concurrent C++, PRESTO, SR, and Ada). uC++
provides concurrency at the level of active objects with the following
capabilities: statically type-safe communication, direct and indirect
communication, the ability to postpone requests without inhibiting
concurrency, and additional capabilities, such as coroutines, clustering
of tasks and processors, and a highly concurrent non-blocking I/O
library. g++ 3.3 is required in order to compile u++ programs.

I'm not a Debian Developer but Matthieu Delahaye [EMAIL PROTECTED]
has offered to sponsor my packages.

Description : Bandersnatch is a complete logging system for jabber
conversations with database backend

Bandersnatch is intended to be a deterrent to corporate users
abusing a Jabber system for personal purposes. It is designed
around the peer-policing theory, which hypothesizes that:
'If an individual is aware that their activities are publicly
visible, hey are likely to limit their activities to the public
 standard'
In other words, if your users know that their Jabber activity
is logged and that their peers can see how many remote
 (personal)messages they've sent, they'll keep their behavior
 within reasonable boundaries.

Description : A KDE application to configure Synaptics TouchPad
KSynaptics aims to help KDE users to configure their Synaptics
TouchPad, that's commonly used in laptops, through the Synaptics
TouchPad driver for XFree86 server. KSynaptics can be run in
standalone mode or embedded into the KControl Center.

I've contacted the author for some minor changes (untared
archive doesn't contain the version + garbage files)
before debianisation.

Finally note that, in the long run, ksynaptics will be
merged into kdeutils / kdeaddons or alike...

MD5sum: 06490091115f70c2cc3f00b22f21930b
Description: Maintain Debian packages in a package pool
apt-move is used to move a collection of Debian package files into a proper
archive hierarchy as is used in the official Debian archive. It is intended as
a tool to help manage the apt-get(8) file cache, but could be configured to
work with any collection of Debian packages.
 .
Running apt-move periodically will assist in managing the resulting partial
mirror by optionally removing obsolete packages, and creating valid local
Packages.gz files. It can also build a partial or complete local mirror of a
Debian binary distribution (including an ``installed-packages only'' mirror).

Bug#281566: Offering help to findutils

2004-11-19 Thread Chuan-kai Lin
Hello Andreas,

I just saw your RFH on findutils, and I would like to help serve as a
backup maintainer (or co-maintainer) for that package. I am currently
only maintaining ident2 and in the process of adopting apt-move, have a
stable job with few travels or other duties that prevents me from
keeping an eye on my packages, and I am also a competent C programmer
(12 years experience, many of them on Linux), so I consider myself very
suitable for such a job.

What do you think?

Bug#282151: RFP: mysitemaker -- mysitemaker is a way to quickly create a canned database-driven web-site with a simple view.

2004-11-19 Thread Satya
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: mysitemaker
  Version : 4.2
Upstream Author : ITLab [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://mysitemaker.sf.net/
* License : GNU GPL
Description : mysitemaker is a way to quickly create a canned
database-driven web-site with a simple view.

Long description:
(straight from the README.html)
  Features:

 * Web based configuration.
 * Automatically generates Search, Results, Add and Edit HTML
   screens.
 * The search screen is very simple, easy to use and does not require
the user to have any knowledge of SQL.
 * The user can select which columns they want to view or export.
 * Searches can be based on the contents of files that the user can
upload. For example, the user might have a list of employee
numbers in a file and, instead of having to run a separate search
for each number, they can just upload the file that contains the
   numbers.
 * Searches can be refined by allowing searches within result sets.
This effectively lets users append AND style clauses to their
searches without complicating the user interface and without
requiring the user to know SQL.
 * Data can be viewed or exported in a variety of ways:

 * as HTML pages
 * as CSV text files
 * as tab delimited text files
 * as MS-Excel files

The administrator may specify columns in the database that contain
only URLs or email address and they will appear in the results screen
   as hyper-links.

When combined with [13]MySQL Import and [14]MySQL Users, you can
easily create a new on-line database from a simple spreadsheet in a
matter of minutes. See the [15]Tool Suite for an example.

A great way to create a rough sketch of a web interface to a
database which can then be easily customized to your specific needs.
For a list of added features and changes since mySiteMaker's initial
   release, check the [16]CHANGELOG

Well, since you are the upstream, you can have it (I had already filed
ITA without being aware of Martin's proposal that you should take it,
but I agree that you are in a better position to take care of the
package than I do, so please help yourself).

Bug#190811: status of RFA on bbmail

2004-11-19 Thread Kevin Coyner

Hi Matt

I see that there is still an outstanding RFA on bbmail (#190811). Like
a couple of the people before me, I too use bbmail and would be
interested in taking over maintenance of it, although I don't want to
step on toes.

I know it really hasn't been an active project, but someone has to
maintain it and it might as well be someone who uses it. I'm not a DD
although someday would like to be. I've packaged a couple things
already and am working with one other DD on getting it uploaded.

Incidently, the current bug filed against bbmail (Bug #241714) ... I
have a similar setup to the person who filed it, and I do not experience
the same problem.

Thanks,
Kevin

I just don't care (any more)! I just don't have the time
nor interest in maintaining this beast. I don't use it
personaly any more (and if I have it installed, I haven't
checked it's information in months!).

Therefor I'm orphaning the nagios and netsaint packages.

nagios has now been adopted by a team of maintainers and after some
testing in experimental, a new version has been uploaded to unstable.
