Bug#299026: RFA: tinycdb -- a package for creating and reading constant databases
Package: wnpp Severity: normal I request an adopter for the tinycdb package. The package description is: tinycdb is a small, fast and reliable utility set and subroutine library for creating and reading constant databases. The database structure is tuned for fast reading: . - Successful lookups take normally just two disk accesses. - Unsuccessful lookups take only one disk access. - Small disk space and memory size requirements; a database uses 2048 bytes for the header and 24 bytes per record, plus the space for keys and data. - Maximum database size is 4GB; individual record size is not otherwise limited. - Portable file format. - Fast creation of new databases. - No locking, updates are atomical. . tinycdb implements almost all API as found in cdb-0.75 written by D.J. Bernstein, so it should be source-compatible. It also implements the query interface as found in earlier versions of cdb (0.6x) and freecdb. It also contains some enhancements, like allowing to check existance of a record in a yet-to-be-created cdb database file. . This package contains both the utility to manipulate constant databases and the development files. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.11 Locale: LANG=POSIX, [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) -- The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart. -- Hellen Keller -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#298106:
Hi Daniel! Daniel Kobras: Currently, kino is not part of sarge due to an RC bug on big-endian architectures. I'll do my best to fix as much of it as possible before handing over the package, but parts of it are tricky, and Kino must be a part of sarge, anyway. Please upload a i386-only-package into sarge, if others arches are not ready or bugs couldn't fix soon. A package for any architectures can remain with RC-bug in unstable until it will be fixed. It's not the finest english way, but at this time IMO reasonable. Kino is THE video editing tool for Debian and a big eye-catcher. upstream only deals with it at low priority. That's the same on other bugs, so I wouldn't raise my hand for adopting, although I really love kino. :-( Kindly regards, Erik -- www.ErikSchanze.de * DSA key ID 30825345 Bitte keine HTML-Mails! * Maillimit: 100 kB DSL Komplett von GMX +++ Supergünstig und stressfrei einsteigen! Bug#299107: ITP: xiron -- ruby interface for xine-library for displaying video
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: xiron Version : 0.1.2 Upstream Author : guenter at users.sourceforge.net * URL : http://xiron.sf.net * License : GPL Description : ruby interface for xine-library for displaying video This is an extension to ruby which allows to use the xine-library to play media streams. this binding takes advantage from the unique features of ruby to provide an objectoriented, and easy-to-use interface to xine. the goal of the api-design is to be lightweight and as smart as possible but not outsmart the programmer. this api combined with the powerful features of the ruby language itself leads to a powerful development framework which makes the development of new media players surprisingly easy. xiron also provides some utility classes not directly related to xine but very usable for frontends. currently there is a class to handle mediamarks and playlists of various formats and an osd widget set to easily write purely osd-based front-ends like oxine. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: Any Locale: LANG=C, Ruby -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
