 Perhaps the people who are packaging stuff that depends on it could
 adopt it, would you be able to ping them about it?

I'm about to adopt it if no one objects.

decision: mod_auth_shadow provided functionality for which there is

This package provides a pure interface for compressing and decompressing
streams of data represented as lazy ByteStrings. It uses the zlib C library so
it has high performance. It supports the zlib, gzip and raw compression
formats.

It provides a convenient high level api suitable for most tasks and for the few
cases where more control is needed it provides access to the full zlib feature
set.

Hi,
I'm planning to package gir-repository soonish. It's a collection of
interface introspection data for several Gnome libraries and it's
content will later move into the corresponding libraries once
gobject-introspection is stable.

This package will be maintained by the pkg-gnome group.

Bug#503533: crafty orphaned.

2008-11-01 Thread Kurt Roeckx
Hi,

Did you notice that crafty was orphaned and so is looking for
a new maintainer now? You prepared a new version before so
I was wondering if you want to be maintainer?

I don't think that you're currently a maintainer of any package in
Debian so I'm willing to sponsor the package for you.

  Description : Toolbox for LaTeX class and package authors

 The etoolbox package is a toolbox of programming facilities geared
 primarily towards LaTeX class and package authors. It provides LaTeX
 frontends to some of the new primitives provided by e-TeX as well as
 some generic tools which are not related to e-TeX but match the profile
 of this package. The package is work in progress. Note that previous
 versions of this package were released under the name elatex.

   * Rename lib* to lib*-0: the major ABI number should be reflected in the
 binary package names.
   * Drop .dirs files: they are redundant (i.e. only needed for creating empty
 directories).
   * Remove the static files from *-dev and the rules file. Building
 static libraries is not really a good idea, since it allows for copies of
 the code to leak everywhere, which makes security updates a pain, etc.
 Unless they are explicitly required, I strongly recommend dropping them.
   * Correct the clean/unpatch rule combo: the build must clean first, then
 unpatch.
   * Added .symbols files to track the change of ABI over time.
 .

   * Merge above changes by Kees Cook; reworded his description as a changelog.
   * Add Kees Cook and myself as uploaders.
   * Add ${misc:Depends} to all packages as recommended in debhelper = 5 mode
 and add ${shlibs:Depends} to -dev packages which sneak extra deps if they
 start shipping binaries.
   * Wrap build-deps and deps to get cleaner diffs when we change them.
   * Remove boilerplate from rules.
   * Add clean-patched to .PHONY; NB: the current clean-patched isn't -j2 safe.

JADE (Java Agent DEvelopment Framework) is a software Framework fully

  Description : Subversion repository replication tool

Pushmi provides a mechanism for bidirectionally synchronizing
 Subversion repositories. The main difference between Pushmi and other
 replication tools is that Pushmi makes the slave repositories
 writable by normal Subversion clients.

Discussion:

Depends: libversion-perl, librunapp-perl, libsvn-core-perl, svk (= 2.0.0),
libapp-cli-perl (=
0.06), libyaml-syck-perl, liblog-log4perl-perl, memcached

This would need Runapp.pm, locally packages as librunapp-perl. I will submit a
seperate ITP for
that, all going as planned.

 fcapture can monitor high speed links and is more frugal in terms of disk
 space and CPU usage than similar programs like argus which use more
 detailed flow log formats.

rlocate appears to be an implementation of slocate that solves the
problem of being up to 24 hours out of date (or longer on frequently
rebooted machines without anacron).

May need to be combined with a kernel module package and patches
(built in the default makefile) to go into the debian kernels.

Still in beta with a 0.4.0 release in 2005, but the latest snapshot is
0.5.6 dated 2007-08-14.

pyctures is a small web gallery written in Python that uses the web.py
framework. It does not use any database and stores all the necessary
data in the filesystem.

It does not intend to be as featureful as other galleries, just to be
comfortable to browse. Most of the administration tasks are performed by
manual file manipulation, so the owner is expected to be comfortable
doing UNIX administration.

It comes with one simple CSS-based style, and the HTML templates are
isolated from the code, so it's very easy to modify.

  Description : Sun XML Datatypes Library

 Sun XML Datatypes Library, Sun's Java[tm] technology implementation of
 W3C's XML Schema Part 2 (http://www.w3.org/TR/xmlschema-2/), is
 intended for use with applications that incorporate XML Schema Part 2.
 .
 This preview version implements the recommendation version

 Schema Part 2 Datatype.
 .
 This product includes software developed by the Apache Software
 Foundation (http://www.apache.org/).

Hi,

I need the library for continuing to package freemind.

Concerning the License, I was not sure, so asked upstream and got the
following answer (with my question quoted):

--- 8 ---

 Hence my question to you: the license to be applied to xsdlib is not
 clear to me. In the package, there is some Sun and some Apache license
 files. Can you please explain to me under which license xsdlib can/has
 to be distributed?

It's a mixture of the apache license and the MIT license. The most of
the code is under the MIT license (see license.txt in the bundle), and a
small portion of it is under the apache license (see
Apache-LICENSE-1.1.txt)

I hope this won't make your life too hard. There are too many licenses
in the world!

--- 8 ---

So true ;-)

Thanks in advance,
Eric

Package: devede

Severity: wishlist

 DeVeDe is a program to create video DVDs and CDs (VCD, sVCD or CVD),
 suitables for home players, from any number of video files, in any of
 the formats supported by Mplayer. The big advantage over other
 utilites is that it only needs Mplayer, Mencoder, DVDAuthor, VCDImager and
 MKisofs (well, and Python 2.4, PyGTK and PyGlade), so its dependencies
 are really small.

Taken from http://www.rastersoft.com/programas/devede.html, there is a
deb package in Christian Marillat's repositories, but it's version 2.12
which is ridiculously ancient.

Thx very much.

Hello,

This is an automatic mail sent to close the RFP you have reported or
are involved with.

Your RFP wnpp bug is being closed because of the following reasons:
- It is, as of today, older than 365 days.
- It hasn't had any activity recently.

As this is an automatic procedure, it could of course have something
wrong and probably it would be closing some bugs that are not
intended by owners and submitters (like you) to be closed, for
example if the RFP is still of your interest, or there has been
some kind of activity around it. In that case, please reopen the
bug, do it, DO IT NOW! (I don't want to be blamed because of
mass closing and not let people know that they can easily reopen
their bugs ;-).

To re-open it, you simply have to mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
with a body text like this:

 reopen 447276
 stop

Further comments on the work done in the bug sent to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] would be truly welcomed.
Anyway, if you have any kind of problems when dealing with
the BTS, feel free to contact me and I'd be more than happy to help
you on this: [EMAIL PROTECTED].

A similar process is being applied to other kind of wnpp bugs.

Thanks for your cooperation,

Bug#504222: RFP: htmlcxx -- htmlcxx is a simple non-validating html parser library for C++

2008-11-01 Thread Luca Bruno
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: htmlcxx
  Version : 0.83
  Upstream Author : Davi Reis [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://htmlcxx.sourceforge.net/
* License : LGPL
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : htmlcxx is a simple non-validating html parser library for
C++

htmlcxx is a simple non-validating css1 and html parser for C++. Although
there are several other html parsers available, htmlcxx has some
characteristics that make it unique:

* STL like navigation of DOM tree, using excelent's tree.hh library from
  Kasper Peeters
* It is possible to reproduce exactly, character by character, the
original document from the parse tree
* Bundled css parser
* Optional parsing of attributes
* C++ code that looks like C++ (not so true anymore)
* Offsets of tags/elements in the original document are stored in the
nodes of the DOM tree

The parsing politics of htmlcxx were created trying to mimic mozilla
firefox (http://www.mozilla.org) behavior. So you should expect parse trees
similar to those create by firefox. However, differently from firefox,
htmlcxx does not insert non-existent stuff in your html. Therefore,
serializing the DOM tree gives exactly the same bytes contained in the
original HTML document.

   * New maintainer (Closes: #501941)
   * bump standards version to 3.8.0
 - added a README.source
 - use the Homepage field
   * nothing is compiled. no need for CFLAGS.
   * Build distclean
 - no need to run make clean, there is no makefile.
   * use quilt
   * don't install the scripts and their documentation. It seems that
 the old package didn't have the scripts even though if I build it
 from source it does. so, for now, just don't include it.
   * Work with Nagios 3, the version in Debian Lenny. Patch from
 http://rt.cpan.org/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=33125, thanks

   * fix short description
   * add whatis descriptions to man pages
   * add Vcs-{Browser,Svn} fields
   * Removed accidental inclusion of work in progress code in the man
 page
   * move perl and libmodule-build-perl from the Build-Depends-Indep

 This is a Haskell library providing an implementation of the O(ND) diff
 algorithm described in An O(ND) Difference Algorithm and Its Variations
 (1986) by Eugene W. Myers. It is O(mn) in space. Whilst the algorithm is
 the same one used by standared Unix diff, the assumption is that users of
 this library will want to diff over interesting things or perform
 interesting tasks with the results.

This library is being packaged as a (new) dependency of the 'geordi' package.
