Bug#588562: ITP: colt -- libraries for High Performance Scientific and Technical Computing in Java
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Package name: colt Version: 1.2.0 Upstream author: c...@listbox.cern.ch URL: http://acs.lbl.gov/software/colt/ License: other Description: libraries for High Performance Scientific and Technical Computing in Java Scientific and technical computing, as, for example, carried out at CERN, is characterized by demanding problem sizes and a need for high performance at reasonably small memory footprint. There is a perception by many that the Java language is unsuited for such work. However, recent trends in its evolution suggest that it may soon be a major player in performance sensitive scientific and technical computing. For example, IBM Watson's Ninja project showed that Java can indeed perform BLAS matrix computations up to 90% as fast as optimized Fortran. The Java Grande Forum Numerics Working Group provides a focal point for information on numerical computing in Java. With the performance gap steadily closing, Java has recently found increased adoption in the field. The reasons include ease of use, cross-platform nature, built-in support for multi-threading, network friendly APIs and a healthy pool of available developers. Still, these efforts are to a significant degree hindered by the lack of foundation toolkits broadly available and conveniently accessible in C and Fortran. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#588526: ITP: cpm -- Console Password Manager
[Stig Sandbeck Mathisen] > This program is a ncurses based console tool to manage passwords and > store them public key encrypted in a file - even for more than one > person. Why public key? That's useful if a certain class of people need to be able to write but not read the file, or vice versa. I can't figure out how that could be useful for a password manager. Aside from that, can it use or import password from 'pwsafe', 'gnome-keyring' or 'kwallet'? Bug#568602: RFS: libgpars-groovy-java (new package, needed to package Grails)
Hi team, I am looking for a sponsor for my package "libgpars-groovy-java". * Package name: libgpars-groovy-java Version : 0.10-1 Upstream Author : Vaclav Pech * URL : http://gpars.codehaus.org/ * License : Apache-2.0 Section : java It builds these binary packages: libgpars-groovy-java - open-source concurrency library for Groovy libgpars-groovy-java-doc - documentation for libgpars-groovy-java The package is lintian clean. The upload would fix these bugs: 568602. My motivation for maintaining this package is: I need this library as Build-Depend for the Grails framework (a web development framework for Groovy language). Besides that, this is a useful library since it provides many concurrency and parallelism features to Groovy (thanks to what is already provided by JCSP and JSR166y projects). Bug#583484: Much of the work has been done!
I second the RFP. [1] I have also found that some at fist glance decent debian packages have been produced already by David Ham and Stephan Kramer [2]. Their debian/copyright file looks OK to use this as a basis for an official debian package. http://amcg.ese.ic.ac.uk/debian/dists/karmic/main/source/environment-modules_3.2.5-5.diff.gz http://amcg.ese.ic.ac.uk/debian/dists/karmic/main/source/environment-modules_3.2.5-5.dsc http://amcg.ese.ic.ac.uk/debian/dists/karmic/main/source/environment-modules_3.2.5.orig.tar.gz I would like to see the debian package be compatible with the ones in EPEL [3] ... but of course the debian ones should be better! [1] http://bugs.debian.org/583484 [2] http://amcg.ese.ic.ac.uk/ [3] https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL/FAQ#What_is_EPEL.3F I would be willing to co-maintain, I am not a debian developer though. -- Dr Richard Alexander Owen Physicist/Programmer Queen Mary, University of London Tel: 020 7882 5054 Physics Department Email: r.a.o...@qmul.ac.uk G.O. Bug#588526: ITP: cpm -- Console Password Manager
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Stig Sandbeck Mathisen * Package name: cpm Version : 0.25.~beta-2 Upstream Author : Kacper Wysocki , harr...@eml.cc * URL : http://github.com/comotion/cpm * License : GPLv2+ Programming Lang: C Description : Console Password Manager This program is a ncurses based console tool to manage passwords and store them public key encrypted in a file - even for more than one person. The encryption is handled via GnuPG so the programs data can be accessed via gpg as well, in case you want to have a look inside. The data is stored as zlib compressed XML so it's even possible to reuse the data for some other purpose. The software uses CDK (ncurses) to handle the user interface, libxml2 to store the information, the zlib library to compress the data and the library GpgMe to encrypt and decrypt the data securely. Note: This supersedes bug #55, which is the old ITP for cpm. I'll close both when uploading. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
