Bug#755797: RFH: awstats -- powerful and featureful web server log analyzer

2014-07-23 Thread Sergey B Kirpichev
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I request assistance with maintaining the awstats package.
Currently, I don't use this software too much and can dedicate
very little time to this beast.

Here is some work for packaging awstats 7.3:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=738101
http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/collab-maint/awstats.git

The package description:
--8--
Advanced Web Statistics (AWStats) is a powerful web server logfile
analyzer written in perl that shows you all your web statistics
including visits, unique visitors, pages, hits, rush hours, search
engines, keywords used to find your site, robots, broken links and more.
Gives more detailed information and better graphical charts than
webalizer, and is easier to use. Works with several web server log
format as a CGI and/or from command line. Supports more than 30
languages.

Due to lack of time and interest, I request an adopter for
the simple-scan package.

The package description is:
Simple Scan is an easy-to-use application, designed to let users
connect their scanner and quickly have the image/document in an
 appropriate format.
 .
Simple Scan is basically a frontend for SANE - which is the same
backend as XSANE uses. This means that all existing scanners will
work and the interface is well tested.

Cheers,

Bug#755813: RFP: trac-simplemultiproject -- manage multiple user projects with one Trac instance

2014-07-23 Thread Mathieu Malaterre
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: trac-simplemultiproject
  Version : trunk
  Upstream Author :
* URL : http://trac-hacks.org/wiki/SimpleMultiProjectPlugin
* License : BSD
  Programming Lang: Python
Description : manage multiple user projects with one Trac instance
Lets you easily manage multiple user projects with one Trac instance or,
respectively, one Trac database (.db file).
 .
 - This is not a meta project in front of several other Trac projects, it just
   implements the idea of TracMultipleProjects/SingleEnvironment.
 - Milestones and versions are assigned to their projects, and both are
displayed on the roadmap. There are several possibilities to filter by
projects on that page, and also the timeline.
 - Components can be assigned to all or only certain projects.
 - 'New Ticket' will just offer the associated milestones, versions and
components of the chosen project. This requires a new custom-ticket field
   'project'.

I did an initial implementation without much luck, given my current
lack of time to investigate I'll leave this as an RFP.

For more info see:

Bug#755813: Acknowledgement (RFP: trac-simplemultiproject -- manage multiple user projects with one Trac instance)

2014-07-23 Thread Mathieu Malaterre
One suggestion, the installation seems to be incorrect. It looks like
it is one level below what it should be.

Other trac plugin uses:

  entry_points={'trac.plugins': [
'customfieldadmin.api = customfieldadmin.api',
'customfieldadmin.customfieldadmin =
customfieldadmin.customfieldadmin']},

while plugin uses:

entry_points = {'trac.plugins': ['simplemultiproject = simplemultiproject']}

Description : Backport of the Python 3.2 SSL hostname checking function

The Secure Sockets layer is only actually secure if you check the
hostname in the certificate returned by the server to which you are
connecting, and verify that it matches to hostname that you are trying
 to reach.
 .
But the matching logic, defined in RFC2818, can be a bit tricky to
implement on your own. So the ssl package in the Standard Library of
Python 3.2 and greater now includes a match_hostname() function for
performing this check instead of requiring every application to
 implement the check separately.
 .
This package contains a backport of the ssl.match_hostname function for
 Python 2.4 and above.

Bug#700337: kibana depends on logstash

2014-07-23 Thread Antoine Beaupré
i don't see how kibana could get into debian without logstash... so i
marked this as being dependent on logstash packaging (664841).

I could review the kibana package nevertheless, where is the source?

Thanks

a.

Bug#617820: biosdevname Debian package

2014-07-23 Thread D. Jared Dominguez

Anyone willing to sponsor?

On Thu, Jul 10, 2014 at 12:15:34AM -0500, D. Jared Dominguez wrote:
I would like to take over maintaining this package in Debian and need
someone to sponsor me. I've CCed Colin in case he's interested in
sponsoring. :)

I've packaged and tested biosdevname 0.5.1 based on the latest
package in Ubuntu. Aside from the newer upstream version, other
changes include updating to dh9, using DEP-5, adding a watch file,
removing an old patch and fixing a bug reported in LP. Since upstream
is someone on my team here at Dell, I went ahead and added the
packaging information as a branch in the upstream git repository.
That git repository is at:

   http://linux.dell.com/git/biosdevname.git

I'm using git-buildpackage, so the orig tarball can be generated
straight from git tags. (There's a debian/gbp.conf in the repo to
make this easier.) The sponsor would need to clone the repo and run
git-buildpackage -S. Once a sponsor checks over my work, I can tag
it as Debian/0.5.1 in git and the package can be uploaded to Debian.

Bug#744818: ITP: adagios -- Adagios is an alternative web configuration (and status) interface to nagios/icinga/shinken

2014-07-23 Thread Matthieu Caneill
Hi,

On Tue, 15 Apr 2014 18:36:29 +, Pall Sigurdsson:
Ok, love the idea of using git.

What's the most up-to-date information regarding this debian/ folder?
Is there a git repo somewhere else than
https://github.com/opinkerfi/adagios ?

I'd like to contribute to the packaging.

Thanks,

* License : GPL-2

Description : DTrace-like tools for linux

A miscellaneous collection of in-development and unsupported performance
analysis tools for Linux perf_events, aka the perf command, and
ftrace. Both perf_events and ftrace are core Linux tracing tools, and
are included in the Linux kernel source.
.
These tools are designed to be simple to use, easy to install, and
provide advanced performance observability. This collection was written
by Brendan Gregg (author of the DTraceToolkit).
.
Many of these tools employ workarounds so that functionality is possible
on existing Linux kernels. Because of this, many tools have caveats (see
man pages), and their implementation should be considered a placeholder
until future kernel features, or new tracing subsystems, are added.

Description : opportunistically encrypt network transport

Tcpcrypt offers opportunistic security for TCP network traffic. All
traffic between two tcpcrypt-enabled peers will be encrypted to
protect against passive monitoring. tcpcrypt also exposes a strong
session identifier to tcpcrypt-aware clients, which can be used as a
 hook for authentication.

If you want any help with the packaging let me know as I'm interested
in this project as well. I feel like share a lot of similar interests :)

As long as the caveats/missing features are properly documented in the

package be suitable for testing ?

If it stays in testing, it will go into the next stable and you then
need to support some arbitrary version for ~3 years.
