Hello again, Le 02/03/2020 à 14:54, Romain Porte a écrit : > I propose to start the review using the following files that I host on > a personal server: > https://microjoe.org/fonts-jetbrains-mono_1.0.3.tar.xz > https://microjoe.org/fonts-jetbrains-mono_1.0.3.orig.tar.gz Some updates: 1) I have reworked the package to use compat "3.0 (quilt)" instead of "3.0 (native)". 2) The package now has a revision, making it version 1.0.3-1 3) The new sources have been uploaded using dput to the following URL: https://perso.microjoe.org/debian/dput/ I hope this simplifies the review process. All the files should be present, and this revision was absolutely necessary in case we want to change files in the debian/ directory keeping the same upstream version. Thanks in advance for review. I tried the package available here: https://salsa.debian.org/debian/polybar It works well! One unfortunate problem I have found, however, is that it requires the siji font to work in its default configuration. That font is not available in Debian right now (#894413) but worse, even if it would be, it's a bitmap font which requires enabling those across the board (`rm /etc/fonts/conf.d/70-no-bitmaps.conf`) which, in turns, means that bitmap fonts *will* be used everywhere. This is most notable when browsing GitHub in Firefox, as it will now decide to use "Helvetica" which is shipped by the xfonts-75dpi package (a dependency of xorg and task-desktop, of all things). This makes things generally horrible for me, and I don't think it's a reasonable expectation. Note that there is a truetype version of the font in https://github.com/fauno/siji/blob/master/ttf/siji.ttf ... but it doesn't display as well.. Also note that I previously mentioned the problems with that font in this bug report... a. -- The most prudent course for any society is to start from the assumption that the Internet should be fundamentally outside the domain of capital. - The Internet's Unholy Marriage to Capitalism

Bug#952954: ITP: fonts-jetbrains-mono -- free and open-source typeface for developers
Hi, Le 02/03/2020 à 11:31, Adam Borowski a écrit : >> This is my very first debian package, I am looking for a sponsor to get >> through this first interaction with the Debian project. Not that I am especially font-centric, but I see this as an easy entry to the Debian packaging system without having to deal with compilation or architectures. Just installing files may be a nice first step. >> I will try to put this package on mentors.debian.net in the coming days >> when it is finalized. > I'd be happy to review it. I for one especially enjoy new monospaced fonts. So, I have published the package to mentors.debian.net but it has not sent me a feedback email yet. The file fonts-jetbrains-mono_1.0.3_amd64.mentors.upload contains the following output repeated multiple times: Successfully uploaded fonts-jetbrains-mono_1.0.3.dsc to mentors.debian.net for mentors. Successfully uploaded fonts-jetbrains-mono_1.0.3.tar.xz to mentors.debian.net for mentors. Successfully uploaded fonts-jetbrains-mono_1.0.3_all.deb to mentors.debian.net for mentors. Successfully uploaded fonts-jetbrains-mono_1.0.3_amd64.buildinfo to mentors.debian.net for mentors. Successfully uploaded fonts-jetbrains-mono_1.0.3_amd64.changes to mentors.debian.net for mentors. As it is not clear to me why the package does not appear in "My pakages" nor the global package list, I propose to start the review using the following files that I host on a personal server: https://microjoe.org/fonts-jetbrains-mono_1.0.3.tar.xz https://microjoe.org/fonts-jetbrains-mono_1.0.3.orig.tar.gz These were manually scp'ed to the server, so many files are missing; probably the signature stuff, I have reworked my OpenPGP key to include my current From: address in a new uid). Maybe I can send you the fonts-jetbrains-mono_1.0.3.dsc as well if you can import my just-updated key from SKS servers that should contain the correct identities. Please let me know if anything is missing (should we add mentors list in CC? stop using this bug for exchanging?), as I am quite new to all of this despite trying hard to comply to the wiki guides. Ciao, Romain.

Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Sascha Steinbiss * Package name: dnsdbq Version : 1.99 Upstream Author : Farsight Security, Inc. * URL : https://github.com/dnsdb/dnsdbq * License : Apache 2.0 and ISC Programming Lang: C Description : API client for passive DNS databases dnsdbq is a pure C99 program that accesses passive DNS database systems such as: * the DNSDB API server at Farsight Security * the CIRCL pDNS server at Computer Incident Response Center (LU) An API key is required for operation. The command syntax was inspired by a python script called dnsdb_query, but significant departure has occured, largely inspired by a modern understanding of "time fencing" and a desire for new features such as CSV output and JSON reprocessing.
Bug#941199: Upstream has valid debian packaging
Hi, since [1] seems to have valid packaging content and I've had a few users reporting to use that for a while and it works well. Therefore I wanted to ask what this might be missing - just someone who does the dput or was there more going on in the background that is missing here? P.S. I did a similar bump to probe for the status of this at the upstream [2] project [1]: https://github.com/stefanberger/swtpm/tree/master/debian [2]: https://github.com/stefanberger/swtpm/issues/216 -- Christian Ehrhardt Staff Engineer, Ubuntu Server Canonical Ltd
