well, it does work here too, both in a window and in full-screen mode.
It's just that it pops up a window which shows the message below, so I
guess there must be some accelerated DGA which I could benefit from.

Do you use XFree86 4.x and is your Matrox in this server accelerated ?
Did you load the extmod module which includes the DGA extension ?

XFree86 4 and vmware / DGA

2000-12-03 Thread Johannes Zellner
Hi,

did anyone manage to run vmware-2 fullscreen with DGA
on XFree86 4.x ? -- I get the vmware message:

Your X server does not support XFree86 DGA accelerated graphics
on your display hardware. Full-screen SVGA mode will not have
acceleration. You may be able to download an updated XFree86
server at "http://www.vmware.com/xfree86";.

I've loaded the 'extmod' module and the 'dga' test
program works nicely. I'm running a ATI 3D Rage LT Pro.

Hello,

on http://samosa.debian.org/~branden/woody/i386/ I found

libX11 is borked (or is it glibc ?)

2000-10-15 Thread Johannes Zellner
Hello,

I cannot link any more against libX11.so:

/usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so: undefined reference to `getpwnam_r@@GLIBC_2.0'

this shows, even if I link a minimal c program.

my versions:
ii xlib6g 3.3.6-11
ii libc6 2.1.94-3

Any comments ?
