Bug#575148: xserver-xorg-video-radeonhd: Everything is suddenly very slow

I started experiencing slowness too sime time ago, but I'm using radeon driver (not radeonhd), so I guess it's not the driver. -- Ecce Jezuch "Nail in my hand from my creator You gave me life now show me how to live" - C. If that's helpful in any way, I'd like to mention that I see exactly the same effect with fglrx (non-free cr**, I know). -- KS "To an engineer, everyone looks like a chimp" - Dilbert signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature
Bug#327248: xserver-xorg: X applications start slowly after [fonts] upgrade
Brice Goglin pisze: Hi, About 2 years ago, you reported a bug to the Debian BTS regarding X applications starting slowly after fonts upgrade. Did you reproduce this problem recently? With Xorg/Etch? With latest Xorg packages in unstable? IIRC, the server relies on per-user fonts cache (we have a bug about this, #318149). But i don't think you should need to run fc-cache by hand. Thanks, Brice No, I didn't have to run fc-cache by hand recently and haven't noticed any slowdowns. So I think we may consider this bug fixed. -KS -- Kasia Cichopek eksponuje biust http://link.interia.pl/f1a6f -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Bug#327248: xserver-xorg: X applications start slowly after [fonts] upgrade
Package: xserver-xorg Version: 6.8.2.dfsg.1-6 Severity: normal Every time I upgrade xserver (this also happened in xfre886 times) X applications' startup slows tremendously (I'm using KDE if it has any meaning). This effect disappears after I run "fc-cache -f" manually. I'm not familiar enough with xserver's packages to say what might be the reason, and if running fc-cache in postinst is a workaround or a fix :) [or if it's some kind of misconfiguration on my side] -- Package-specific info: Contents of /var/lib/xfree86/X.roster: xserver-xorg /etc/X11/X target unchanged from checksum in /var/lib/xfree86/X.md5sum.
