Mine seems to work fine, I will try to reproduce the problem with your .xsession here. Also, please check the output of xmodmap -pke after starting X so that we are sure that the xmodmap changes were not applied at all (and not just applied to the keymap but not used by the server for some obscur reason). I can clearly see the video switching going away, but my xmodmap settings still don't take effect.

A server reset is usually noticeable due to the server re-programming the video mode. You can avoid resets by starting the Xserver with the -noreset command line option or by keeping a client running in the background. -- Earthling Michel Dänzer | http://tungstengraphics.com Libre software enthusiast | Debian, X and DRI developer

Package: x11-xserver-utils Version: 7.3+1 Severity: normal When starting X, running xmodmap from e.g. ~/.xsession no longer changes any mappings. Strange thing is, running xmodmap from a terminal after X has started still works. This started happening after the upgrade to Xorg 7.3. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-1-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages x11-xserver-utils depends on: ii cpp 4:4.2.1-6The GNU C preprocessor (cpp) ii libc6 2.6.1-5 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libice6 2:1.0.4-1X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libsm6 2:1.0.3-1+b1 X11 Session Management library ii libx11-62:1.0.3-7X11 client-side library ii libxau6 1:1.0.3-2X11 authorisation library ii libxaw7 2:1.0.4-1X11 Athena Widget library ii libxext61:1.0.3-2X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii libxi6 2:1.1.3-1X11 Input extension library ii libxmu6 1:1.0.3-1X11 miscellaneous utility library ii libxmuu11:1.0.3-1X11 miscellaneous micro-utility li ii libxrandr2 2:1.2.2-1X11 RandR extension library ii libxrender1 1:0.9.4-1X Rendering Extension client libra ii libxt6 1:1.0.5-3X11 toolkit intrinsics library ii libxtrap6 1:1.0.0-4X11 event trapping extension libra ii libxxf86vm1 1:1.0.1-2X11 XFree86 video mode extension l ii x11-common 1:7.3+2 X Window System (X.Org) infrastruc x11-xserver-utils recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
