Bug#481529: xserver-xorg-video-radeon: (strange?) workaround for video not synced

I have now 3 items: - By chance I discovered that when switching back to text console and back again to X solved the problem. The screen is readable again ! I cannot explain it, but maybe some of you guys have an idea? So I removed the line 'Option DRI off from my config. - I applied the trick from bug 449211. Setting this DisplayPriority option to BIOS has the positive effect that the screen is readable without having to switch back and forth from text mode. So this option seems to be useful for me (note I am using the same card : 9200 SE) - However, DRI is still disabled (automatically), and I have no clue why... Any help would be greatly appreciated. I propose to file another bug no DRI with radeon 9200 SE, or is there a more appropriate subject ? Can you post your dmesg? Yes, glxinfo is now reporting that direct rendering is enabled. The messages (freeing invalid ..) are still there though. To sum up: * the option make the screen readable for me (removes this sync problems) * installing the firmware allows DRI to be enabled On Fri, 21 Aug 2009 10:53:19 -0400 Alex Deucher alexdeuc...@gmail.com wrote: On Fri, Aug 21, 2009 at 10:44 AM, Dimitri Chaussontri2...@gmx.net wrote: Hi, Two new things I noticed: - switching between text console and X doesn't clear the problem anymore (my system was updated a few times in between).
