Bug#569778: is this still an issue?
Le 21/02/11 18:58, Cyril Brulebois a écrit : Hi Rémi, Rémi Letot (15/04/2010): Now I must say that I haven't tested this much further since the focus seems to be on kms, which I always use nowadays. I can of course temporarily switch back to non kms mode for testing when needed, but since this is bound to impact my usage for quite some time, please ask for that only when non kms testing is relevant (which might be now, just say so) if I got it right, you're mainly using KMS, but willing to test UMS if we need that? In which case, I'd say we're done with this issue since it's no longer affecting you, and I'm tempted to close this bug report. If somebody *has* to use UMS for whatever reason, a new bug report is welcome. Does that look like a plan? Hello, I think that this is related to 570466, the only difference is that without kms I am able to revive the screen by switching to a VT and back to X. Now I must say that I haven't tested this much further since the focus seems to be on kms, which I always use nowadays. I can of course temporarily switch back to non kms mode for testing when needed, but since this is bound to impact my usage for quite some time, please ask for that only when non kms testing is relevant (which might be now, just say so) Tanks, -- Rémi -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-x-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Is this still a problem with the newer radeon driver in sid (also newer kernel and mesa)? (make sure you have libdrm-radeon1, firmware-linux-nonfree and firmware-linux installed). If problem persists, could you try getting 2.6.33 from experimental. Also try enabling Kernel modesetting. add *radeon*to /etc/modules and put *options radeon modeset=1* in /etc/modprobe.d/radeon-kms.conf (you might need to create the file). Report back! Andres
