OK, I don't have any other ideas at this point, so please report the bug
upstream at bugs.freedesktop.org against mesa (drivers/dri/i965
component). Attach the backtrace, the full X log and dmesg, and let us
know the bug number for tracking.

Thanks,
Julien

My bad, I'll be more careful from now on.
There are still no new entries in dmesg output.

I've also tried to enable/disable compositing and use XRender instead of
OpenGL as dE . suggested.
It seems that problem occurs only when OpenGL is used AND 'Suspend
desktop effects for fullscreen windows' is checked.

You don't seem to have libgl1-mesa-dri-dbg. Please install it, get a
new backtrace, and send us
- the full backtrace ("thread apply all bt full" in gdb)
- the version of libgl1-mesa-glx and libgl1-mesa-dri you have installed
- the full output of glxinfo
- your full X log.

It might have been a good idea to actually send your mail to the people
you're talking to. Otherwise all they (we) get is the 'processed' mail
from the BTS.
