Err, I've obviously forgotten how to write doc-base files.

I'll review and fix this.

The second problem, however, is that xlibgl1 won't install:

  [ ~/phase1 ] # dpkg -i xlibgl1_4.0.1-0phase1v12_i386.deb
(Reading database ... 20 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace xlibgl1 4.0.1-0phase1v12 (using
  xlibgl1_4.0.1-0phase1v12_i386.deb) ...
  Unpacking replacement xlibgl1 ...
  dpkg: /home/wichert/sources/dpkg-1.6.14/main/packages.c:191:
  process_queue: Assertion `dependtry = 4' failed.
  Aborted

This totally stumps me. Looks like I need to go back to v8 again.

This tells me you haven't read READ_THIS_*NOW*!!! lately.

It is a real bug, I got the same error after I purged all old X
packages.

Sorry. Actually, I did look at that file, but I didn't notice the extra
paragraph in the middle. It would be so much easier (probably even for
you) if you would prefix each version-specific change with the version
number to which it pertains. Or possibly just put the latest note at the
end of the file. Or at the beginning. Putting a small paragraph in
between two paragraphs that seem not to have changed makes for a difference
that's hard to find by eye.

I am nevertheless embarrassed to have been found in violation of one of the
cardinal rules.
