Re: [Declude.JunkMail] aliases mail forwarding
I think there is a gotcha with aliases, this is what I believe I observed (Declude 1.53, IMail 7.1): If you have an alias [EMAIL PROTECTED] and you define it as a username, e.g. bar then the $default$.junkmail for domain some.domain will be used. However if have an alias [EMAIL PROTECTED] and you define it as an email address at the same domain, e.g. [EMAIL PROTECTED] then the $default$.junkmail for *primary IMail domain* will be used (the default $default$.junkmail if you will). In both cases the email is delivered to the same .mbx file, but the $default$.junkmail used is different. The default default is used, even if you have $default$.junkmail specifically for the primary IMail domain. Scott - have I got this straight? If you want to replicate this, put a CATCHALLEMAILS in each $default$.junkmail with different text, and then send email through aliases defined in different ways and look at the headers. Scott Perry [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, August 28, 2002 11:45 AM Subject: Re: [Declude.JunkMail] aliases mail forwarding I am trying to understand what Action definitions are used by Declude for email sent to an email alias and also for email sent to an account which forwards elsewhere. Specifically... 1) If an email is sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED], which is an alias that points to [EMAIL PROTECTED], which domain's $default$.junkmail file will be used? In this case, it would be the someotherdomain.com's. 2) If an email is sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED], which is a real account that has Mail Forwarding turned on to forward to [EMAIL PROTECTED], which domain's $default$.junkmail file will be used? In this case, it would be mydomain.com. A good way to think of it is that whichever user has an .mbx file will be the one used for the Declude JunkMail config file. -Scott --- [This E-mail was scanned for viruses by Declude Virus (http://www.declude.com)] --- This E-mail came from the Declude.JunkMail mailing list. [Declude.JunkMail] $default$.junkmail vs user.junkmail
Morning, In my global config file, I added a weight16 test. In my $default$.junkmail file, for the entire domain, I set the weight16 test to have a HOLD action. I have some test users that have their own user.junkmail file that I have been experimenting with. I never added the weight16 HOLD action to their junkmail files. In order for the email failing weight16 to get held for those users that have their own junkmail file, do I have to add this to each user's file manually? What is the primary name for some.domain? If it is mail.some.domain (with some.domain as a domain alias), then the mail.some.domain file would be used (\IMail\Declude\mail.some.domain\$default$.JunkMail). -Scott --- [This E-mail was scanned for viruses by Declude Virus (http://www.declude.com)] --- This E-mail came from the Declude.JunkMail mailing list. I never added the weight16 HOLD action to their junkmail files. In order for the email failing weight16 to get held for those users that have their own junkmail file, do I have to add this to each user's file manually? Yes. Declude JunkMail only uses one configuration file to determine the action(s) to take on an E-mail. If the per-user configuration file exists, that one will be used. Otherwise, a per-domain file will be used if it exists. If neither of those exist, the \IMail\Declude\$default$.JunkMail file will be used. But in any case, only one file will be used. -Scott --- [This E-mail was scanned for viruses by Declude Virus (http://www.declude.com)] --- This E-mail came from the Declude.JunkMail mailing list. [Declude.JunkMail] spamattach.eml question
I am testing the attach function using the default spamattach.eml. Can I customize this? For example, in the tests failed line, I would like a bit more information than what is given. When I was using the SUBJECT action, I had the following variables included so I could see exactly what was happening: SUBJECT SPAM[%WEIGHT%-%TESTSFAILED%-%QUEUENAME%] Can I put this same line [%WEIGHT%-%TESTSFAILED%-%QUEUENAME%]in the spamattach.eml on the tests failed line? [Declude.JunkMail] What is wrong with this picture?
Title: Message Hi: Version 1.58 - uploaded this morning. Wehave the following in the global.cfg # Custom Tests BLACKLIST fromfileD:\IMail\Declude\Blacklist.txt x 15 0BLACKLISTWRNfromfileD:\IMail\Declude\BlacklistWgt.txt x 130FREEEMAILSfromfileD:\IMail\Declude\FreeEmails.txtx 50 Thenwe have a file called FreeEmails.txt (The other files work fine). This file lists all the sites we see that offer free emails. We elevate their weight by 5. In the DEC log file we see: 08/28/2002 14:45:11 Q1a3600180158ae6c Could not load fromfile D:\IMail\Declude\FreeEmails.txt. Any reason why this is the case? are we doing something wrong? Regards, Kami

I *hate* to ask a question like this, but I've got to -- does the D:\IMail\Declude\FreeEmails.txt file exist? If you type dir D:\IMail\Declude\FreeEmails.txt from a command prompt, does it show up, or do you see File Not Found? If that doesn't explain it, can you try typing type D:\IMail\Declude\FreeEmails.txt from a command prompt (to make sure that the file isn't locked in a way that it can't be read)? -Scott --- [This E-mail was scanned for viruses by Declude Virus (http://www.declude.com)] --- This E-mail came from the Declude.JunkMail mailing list.
