I am running 2.0b and have the Spamheaders problem. Is there a fix for 2.0b
available?

Bill

2003-08-28 Thread Bill Newberg
John,

I understand you are very pleased with the product. Do you use
MessageSniffer as well? If so, why?

Thanks,

Bill

[Declude.JunkMail] SPAMDOMAINS

2003-07-14 Thread Bill Newberg
I remember a previous discussion regarding someone creating and maintaining
an sd.txt file for everyone to use. Did that ever occur? Does anyone have a
sd.txt file they would be willing to share?

Thank you,

Bill Newberg

Is there a site available where I can download the latest sd.txt file that
people are using for the SPAMDOMAINS test?

Thank you,

RE: [Declude.JunkMail] Tuning Declude

2003-02-14 Thread Bill Newberg

I've only used it a short time and it is not integrated into my weights
completely. Anything 20 and over in my tests is deleted or if it's on the
ImageFXOnline (Thank you) kill list, it's deleted as well. 10-19 is
considered possible spam, sent to the user and an alert with a copy to my
spam admin box is sent to me. Message Sniffer really improved the detection
of actual spam in the 10-19 weight arena. Those that used to slip through as
possible spam that are spam now are caught with MessageSniffer and Declude.

As you know, Declude eliminates the majority of spam by itself. I think
Sniffer makes a significant difference by adding a higher level of filtering
to Declude and stopping the spam that used to get by as questionable. I
don't think you can get to the level of MessageSniffer with Declude alone.
The combination of the two works great together.

I've run Declude for a little over a year now. I decided to test Sniffer,
since there was still some spam that was getting past my tests in the 10-19
weight range. I decided it was a worthwhile addition. So far, I'm glad I did
it and I would certainly do it again.

Bill

I added Sniffer to Declude JunkMail recently and I am very pleased. It is a
great addition to Declude.

That worked! Now the log has entries of Match, Clean and Final. Now, I can
let it run and see how it works for me.

Thank you for your assistance.

Sorry, I passed it on already. Every e-mail was showing SNIFFER as a failed
test. I did not notice anything unusual.

I added the at the end of the test. Now, I am getting the
ERROR_RULE_AUTH 73 entry in the sniffer2.txt log file and it is not working.
The good news is that mail is passing through Declude properly.

I installed the demo version of Message Sniffer and configured it in Declude
according to the directions on the website. It is failing every e-mail
received. Any ideas what could be wrong?

RE: [Declude.JunkMail] AV Recommendations

I added McAfee a couple of months ago as Scanner 2. Everything is working
well. I don't think it is absolutely necessary, but the extra protection
can't hurt.
