I believe that this screen saver should be included as an optional package or advice the user, or, let us to select which screensaver are selectable. This makes it (sadly) to all intents and purposes useless as a spam filtering solution for real world deployment. Well, this was pretty hard to get working because of the dependencies on newer stuff, and I ended up ignoring them whenever I could get away with it, but I eventually got something built with 2.15.2, and installed it. When I left click or double click on the applet, it doesn't lock up, but a menu doesn't pop up either. Contrast this with the version 2.14.2: when I clicked on that, the applet and the neighboring system monitor applet would stop responding, but only for about 5 seconds. Not as bad as the bug description, but I remember older versions of the applet being worse, to the point where I'd have to kill the panel. The problem I noticed is that when the program I want to run requires administrative rights, I need to enter "gksudo" before the name of the program. The problem I experience is that auto-completion works for "gksudo", but NOT for the program name :-( I think the problem might be that the auto-completion only works for the first word you type. my expectation was that the desktop would switch only if ctrl+alt+direction were pressed all at the same time, and never otherwise. That's the way things work in most other programs; for example, if you hold ctl+shift+left in a text editor (with PC-like bindings) it highlights one word to the left.
