I can confirm it: upgraded from 14.04 to 14.10 - no problem. Then 14.10 to 15.04 and reboot. Mouse pointer not visible. The issue is with Google-Chrome. I purged Chrome, rebooted and was able to set the default for the xml file to gedit. I have the same problem. In my case any attachment is a problem and sometimes a returned mail without an attachment. This also seems to be an issues in 15.04. The system monitor appears to double network throughput when using a VPN (likely because its adding the VPN interface throughput to the underlying wlan/eth interface throughput, effectively double counting it).
