[Bug 1871659] Re: there is no way to set the keymap / keyboard layout on the login screen
on further review, i was going from memory and it seems like if multiple layouts are set, at least in the latest 20.04 image, you get the option to set the layout which means this isn't an issue, except when a bug like 877371 occurs, which is a separate issue... i'm not seeing a way to close this bug -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1871659 Title: there is no way to set the keymap / keyboard layout on the login screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1871659/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

There is no easy way to gracefully handle weak crypto. It has been known for more than five years that 1024 bit (or rather <2048 bit) DH primes need to be considered weak and should not be used - https://weakdh.org/ - GnuTLS > 3.2 does the right thing in having services which still have not taken action to use contemporary (non weak) crypto fail by default, so that users will become aware of the fact they are (were) connecting insecurely, and these services can be more easily identified and fixed. In some cases, using clients (and software versions of client) which support higher TLS protocol versions can work around this problem (if remote servers support strong ciphers on higher TLS protocol versions; example: https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=mail.nhs.net&hideResults=on ). [Bug 1872475] [NEW] Wine programs in the dock don't get the orange circle when executed, but get duplicated at the bottom of the dock instead.
Public bug reported: I really don't know whether to file this bug report with wine or with gnome-shell, but it used to work, so I suspect it is a gnome-shell thing. How to duplicate it: -Install a wine program, and put its icon in the gnome dock. -Click on the wine program icon in the dock. -An identical icon appears at the bottom of your list of running programs, with an orange dot, but the original one has no orange dot to indicate it is running. What should happen: -No duplicate icon should be displayed at the bottom of your dock, and the orange dot should appear beside the original icon. See my screenshot included. The icon to look at is the LTSpice one, 11 from the top, and then find it also near the bottom of the dock with an orange dot. Thanks for your good work! [Bug 1715435] Re: Can't lock screen with keyboard shortcuts when using lightdm
My Ubuntu 20.04 installation just did this - something changed the org.gnome.desktop.lockdown disable-lock-screen to true and also the blank screen to never (did an update do this?). Also don't rely on the "affects me" counter above, as for non-power- users this bug is subtle and undetectable in most cases, leaving them unsafe without knowledge. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-session in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1734541 Title: encrypted home-directory is not unmounted on logout To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-session-shutdown/+bug/1734541/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1734541] Re: encrypted home-directory is not unmounted on logout
Still an issue as of today 2020-04-13, for Ubuntu 18.04. Please set this critical immediately, this is a strong security issue for the use case of multiuser device! Using a "guest" user to share your device with others is a quite common use case. Everyone would expect that logging out and pass the device to another person would benefit from a eCrypt FS user homdedir setup. I myself usually log out and set my device to standby on a daily routine. That has me left unprotected by a while now it seems. I usually log out when taking the laptop to unsafe spaces like traveling, conferences and events in public spaces etc. I had expected that logging out would keep my data safe to some level. As this is a regression too, many already adapted to logout-is-safe behaviour.
