[Bug 1884754] Re: Fractional scaling does not persist across reboots in resizable VM windows
Before we ask you to report the issue upstream we need to check to see if it's a downstream-only bug. Please: 1. Make sure Wayland fractional support is enabled: gsettings set org.gnome.mutter experimental-features "['scale-monitor- framebuffer', 'x11-randr-fractional-scaling']" (GUI support is coming - bug 1871864) 2. Log out. 3. Select 'Ubuntu on Wayland' from the login screen. 4. [Bug 1782703] Re: Unable to download updates from "extensions.gnome.org"
I began having the identical symptoms described several weeks ago. Multiple connectivity error message windows at the *initial* startup of GNOME-software. This occurs on waking from suspend, and not from restart or shutdown-start. GNOME-software is attempting to update its listings in the background before networking is restored upon awake-after- suspend. Trivial, but an annoyance nontheless, because this was not happening before (that I remember, anyway.) [Bug 1885452] [NEW] pc freezes and crashes during accountservice upgrade on fresh ubuntu focal fossa install
Public bug reported: After a fresh install of Focal Fossa and running sudo apt update and sudo apt upgrade, when the upgrade reaches "setting up accountsservice" the PC freezes. After a reboot, the login screen did not appear anymore. This was reproducible on another computer (laptop). I reinstalled Ubuntu and put the package on hold. Later, I found that by installing and activating lightdm, this problem was remediated. Found this solution accidentally, while I was looking to correct login screen loops after I installed the nvidia drivers. This is unrelated, since the laptop does not have nvidia. ** Affects: accountsservice (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: accountsservice focal fossa lightdm -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to accountsservice in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1885452 Title: pc freezes and crashes during accountservice upgrade on fresh ubuntu focal fossa install To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/accountsservice/+bug/1885452/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1881458] Re: Playback aborts when a download is started, printing "server does not support seeking"
I think this ticket can be closed, at least for now. Since I replaced all my mp3 format streams with aac streams, I have not experienced as much as a stutter. Then again, for all I know, the actual reason may be a recent be a kernel update... [Bug 1870736] Re: [nvidia] Screen scaling 125% gives 200%
@Treviño Your ppa work for me in terms of proportional, fractional scaling to 125%. My configuration is Ubuntu 20.04 x86_64 GeForce GTX 1060 440 tested driver Log attached - Thank you for your work on this. Text aliasing is not correct, there is some sub-pixel bulging that appears like a larger texture area is being rendered and scaled down incorrectly (perhaps bilinear scaling down to the output resolution). If this is the case, it is a good workaround, but not suitable for professional workflows. If we know roughly what the issue is, I am happy to test/look at code etc. Re: my comment about this not getting past test. If the testers are using a different driver set, then to say the (prop) drivers are tested is not really representative; I know a lot of people are donating their time, and I know we can't test all the configurations - but this is core functionality. ** Attachment added: "log as requested" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1870736/+attachment/5387903/+files/log.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1870736 Title: [nvidia] Screen scaling 125% gives 200% To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1870736/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1879968] Re: copy/paste still sometimes fails in LibreOffice on mutter 3.36.2
Marcello - yes indeed. For me it is worst with spreadsheets, where I copy a lot of data regularly. For instance when keeping a record of regular measurements, I copy the previous item's formulae each time. I only started to realise that a lot of my sheets were corrupted in early April. With text I usually realise it is wrong quite quickly. With data and formulae it can be much less obvious. I was, once, in the IT business, so am not reluctant to get involved with reporting issues, and am also happy to test. Unfortunately I don't know nearly enough about modern systems to be able to debug or fix them (now where's that GA SPC 16/50?). I fail to understand why this is not being regarded as a critical bug. I hope that spreadsheets on Ubuntu are not ever being used for important stuff, are they? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1879968 Title: copy/paste still sometimes fails in LibreOffice on mutter 3.36.2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mutter/+bug/1879968/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1879968] Re: copy/paste still sometimes fails in LibreOffice on mutter 3.36.2
It's not always easy to check that the pasted text it's the correct one, then this is a data corruption bug. That is why I think this is a critical bug. Worse, the most affected users of this bug (non-technical ones) are very unlikely to ever report it. For example, I am a programmer and I only discovered this bug when my wife, a non-technical user, reported it to me. She started to see cut and paste problems with Ubuntu 19.04, almost one year ago, but at the same time, I have never had any problem, because, as a programmer, I mostly use different software. My wife has never filled a bug report, as most non-technical users (I think). Then I don't know how to raise awareness of this problem.
