[Bug 1933996] Re: Alt-tab stops switching windows [JS ERROR: TypeError: window is null _createWindowClone@resource:///org/gnome/shell/ui/altTab.js:29:27]
A fix has been merged upstream two months ago, see https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/4184 and https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/2027 The fix was released with version 40.6, but Debian and Ubuntu haven't updated the upstream package in their repository, yet. ** Bug watch added: gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues #4184 https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/4184 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1933996 Title: Alt-tab stops switching windows [JS ERROR: TypeError: window is null _createWindowClone@resource:///org/gnome/shell/ui/altTab.js:29:27] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-shell/+bug/1933996/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1952999] Re: Wayland blocks the microphone of the webcam
Weird. I think this is PulseAudio's responsibility but how that relates to Wayland is not obvious. One possible explanation is the number of libraries/plugins used internally in the audio system that try to connect to an X11 server (I don't know why but they do). Starting recently mutter/gnome-shell does not have Xwayland running all the time so random library components are failing to find an X11 server. Seen also in bug 1949200. ** Changed in: mutter (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New ** Also affects: pulseaudio (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1952999 Title: Wayland blocks the microphone of the webcam To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1952999/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Thanks for the bug report. First please check that you don't have any extensions aside from the three Ubuntu extensions installed. Look in the 'Extensions' app and also run: cd ~/.local/share/gnome-shell rm -rf extensions then log in again. Second, you seem to be using a Xorg session(?) so we can identify which part of the system has crashed or frozen by whether the mouse pointer still moves. Does the mouse pointer still move? Finally, next time the bug happens, please: 1. Wait 10 seconds. 2. Reboot. 3. Run: journalctl -b-1 > prevboot.txt 4. [Bug 1952766] Re: Disconnecting monitor crashes shell (wayland, gnome)
Thanks. The bug report is now attached to this bug. (Some asides about the bug-uploading process:) There was already a _usr_bin_gnome-shell.1000.crash.uploaded file, however I cannot see my bug in errors.ubuntu.com. So I went and tried doing it manually: ``` $ ubuntu-bug _usr_bin_gnome-shell.1000.crash No such schema “org.gnome.settings-daemon.peripherals.mouse” No such schema “org.gnome.settings-daemon.peripherals.mouse” ``` Still no uploaded bugs in errors.ubuntu.com, so I comment out the line mentioned in bug 994921. I retried with ubuntu-bug. This time a progress indicator appeared, but it said HTTP Error 503: service unavailable. I retried again, then it seemed to have gone through.
